Abdou Cissé is a BAFTA nominated and award-winning writer, director and creative from South London. His directorial debut, SERIOUS TINGZ, won Best Narrative Short at the 2019 Shiny Awards and was nominated for a BIFA. SERIOUS TINGZ went on to be selected by eight film festivals, featuring on ITV news, Tate Modern & Britain; as well as the National Prison Radio. This amassed publicity enabled SERIOUS TINGZ to reach over 90,000 prisoners across the UK. Having built a successful career creating award winning campaigns for brands such as Apple, Nike, and Google, Abdou now aims to widen the spectrum and genre of inner-city stories told in the UK by creating projects that spark dialogue and challenge sociocultural stereotypes.
Building upon the success of his 2024 BAFTA nominated & BIFA award winning short, FESTIVAL OF SLAPS, Abdou made his TV directorial debut as the lead director for the BBC series, GRIME KIDS, written by Theresa Ikoko.
