Jon Favreau, the creator of The Mandalorian, announced that the script for Season 4 was finished before Season 3 concluded, but it now seems that the fourth season may not happen at all.
Season 3 wrapped up with Moff Gideon appearing to be defeated and Mando adopting Grogu, establishing a sense of peace that would require a new threat to arise for Season 4 to be plausible.
After the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA and writers’ strikes, speculation arose that The Mandalorian Season 4 might be completely abandoned in favor of a movie. These rumors gained momentum when it was revealed that Pedro Pascal would not be returning physically for the series due to his commitments to The Last of Us Season 2 and the upcoming Gladiator film, meaning he would only provide Mando’s voiceover.

Jon Favreau, the creator of ‘The Mandalorian,’ revealed that the script for Season 4 was completed before Season 3 ended, but now it appears that the fourth season may not take place at all.
Season 3 concluded with Moff Gideon seemingly defeated and Mando adopting Grogu, creating a sense of peace that suggests a new threat would need to emerge for Season 4 to be viable.
Following the resolution of the SAG-AFTRA and writers’ strikes, rumors began circulating that ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 4 might be scrapped entirely in favor of a movie. There was no mention of it during Lucasfilm's splashy Star Wars Celebration last year, but The Mandalorian and Grogu will be the first Star Wars movie released theatrically since 2019's The Rise of Skywalker.
Arriving in place of The Mandalorian season 4, the hope is that Din Djarin and The Child can restore the franchise to its former glory on the big screen (with the Rey-led movie next up for Lucasfilm and James Mangold and Dave Filoni's efforts somewhere on the twin-sunned horizon).
We recently learned that The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released on May 22, 2026, and a shooting update has been shared today by Making Star Wars (via SFFGazette.com).
"I talked to two different cats, both believe that filming is actually going on in May for 'The Mandalorian and Grogu," they explain. "In May there will be filming done. I’m not saying it’s May 1st,...

Remember when we first met Din Djarin? He swaggers into that cantina in the first episode of The Mandalorian, takes down a few ruffians, and flies off with his quarry. No mess, no pomp, no big deal.
Those days now seem long gone, as what started out as a smaller-scale Western set in the world of Star Wars, between the Original and Sequel Trilogies, has now become the hope for the future of the franchise on the big screen. The characters will now be the focus of the next Star Wars movie. Directed by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian & Grogu is currently expected to release in 2026. Does this mean we won’t be seeing the beloved duo on screen at all until then? Or will a potential season 4 of the show bridge the gap on Disney+? It’s a question that has eluded Star Wars fans since the film project was first announced.

Jon Favreau – the creator of ‘The Mandalorian‘ TV series – claimed that the script for ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 4 was finished even before Season 3 officially ended, and now it seems that the fourth season might not even happen after all.
Season 3 wrapped up with Moff Gideon seemingly defeated for good and Mando officially adopting Grogu, making him his little apprentice and his son, Din Grogu. They seemed to find peace, which means a completely new threat ought to emerge for Season 4 to happen.
Several weeks after the SAG-AFTRA and writer strikes ended, industry-wide rumors started swirling around about ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 4 getting booted completely and turned into a movie. Then, those rumors got even more legit when we recently heard that Pedro Pascal won’t physically return for ‘The Mandalorian’ due to his commitments on ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 and 2024’s new ‘Gladiator’ film. Instead, he’d only provide Mando’s voiceover.

Following Carl Weathers’ death on Thursday at the age of 76, his friends from The Mandalorian have shared their raw emotions and their memories of the actor. “Words fail,” Pedro Pascal, who stars as the title character on the Disney+ series, wrote on Instagram, adding a broken-heart emoji as he posted a headshot of Weathers, who played ex-magistrate Greef Karga. Katee Sackhoff, the actor behind Mandalorian warrior Bo-Katan Kryze, spoke along similar lines on Instagram. “There are no words. I’m in complete shock,” she wrote. “ Carl and I found a friendship off-camera bonding over our love of the [Pacific Northwest] and the importance of family. He was so proud of his family. [The Mandalorian actor ] Brendan Wayne said it best… never did I ever meet a guy who seemed like he would live forever. Rest in peace, my friend. I hope you’ve found your plot of land again.” View this post on Instagram A...

There were a lot of things about "Star Wars: Episode VI -- The Return of the Jedi" that gave fans closure for the trilogy. The second Death Star was blown up. The Emperor (Ian McDiarmid) was defeated. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) finally admitted their feelings and kissed. We also found out that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Leia were siblings and saw Darth Vader redeemed and unmasked before his death. That last one might have been wonderful for fans, but for David Prowse, who did all the physical work for the role (with the voice of James Earl Jones replacing his own), it was a disappointment.
That is according to an interview with Prowse with Rock Cellar Magazine in 2012. The actor, who passed away at the age of 85 in 2020, had been a bodybuilder, helped train Christopher Reeve for his 1978 "Superman" role, and appeared in projects like "A Clockwork Orange,...

While Pedro Pascal will now and forever be associated with "The Mandalorian," as he has helped bring the title character of the beloved "Star Wars" show to life, the actor is only owed partial credit these days. Pascal has confirmed that he is mostly just providing the voice for Mando these days, with the rest of the team doing the heavy lifting on set. So for those who may have been wondering how much time Pascal spends on set, the answer seems to be close to none at all.
Pascal recently participated in a roundtable with several other actors for The Hollywood Reporter, including Kieran Culkin ("Succession") and Jeff Bridges ("The Old Man"). During the conversation, was asked how he balanced being in both "The Last of Us" and "The Mandalorian." This Star Wars: The Mandalorian article contains spoilers.
Before The Mandalorian season 3, few Star Wars fans would have ever even considered a potentially tragic end to Din Djarin’s story on the show. Or an end at all. After all, Pedro Pascal’s stoic bounty hunter with a heart of gold has quickly become one of the most beloved and popular characters in a franchise that doesn’t often kill off its valuable IP. Yet, for some viewers, season 3 may have set the stage for just that: Din’s exit from The Mandalorian as the show, and the Mandoverse as a whole, moves on to a new stage.
The penultimate episode of season 3, “The Spies,” ends with Din stuck in a dire situation. Captured by Moff Gideon’s commandos and dragged deeper into the top-secret Imperial installation on Mandalore, we don’t know what plans the villain has for Din...

Last week at Star Wars Celebration, Disney released a flurry of exciting announcements, such as an Ahsoka trailer and three new movies (which are really, truly going to happen this time, promise!). Yet while fans embraced the news, the crown jewel of Disney’s Star Wars TV universe — The Mandalorian — was arguably having its worst week ever.
The show’s latest episode, “Guns for Hire,” scored the drama’s weakest fan reviews (via IMDb) since the neo-Western sci-fi drama launched four years ago. The episode wasn’t entirely an outlier, as fan gripes about the show’s third season have been rising in general, with the series’ Rotten Tomatoes user reviews this season plummeting from their usual low-90s perch to just 57 percent and its IMDb average similarly (though not as sharply) ebbing downward.

The best "Star Wars" films or series are able to forge unique identities for themselves. "Andor" is a grounded espionage thriller; "The Empire Strikes Back" is a darker and more subversive take on the hero's journey or monomyth; "Star Wars Rebels" delves deeply into themes of nature, spirituality, and the Force; and so forth. In the case of "The Mandalorian," the show draws heavily from the same samurai movies and pulp sci-fi serials that inspired George Lucas to create "Star Wars," yet frequently tips its hat to the tropes of the Spaghetti Western. There's even more than a dash of Tolkien-esque fantasy mixed in there, especially in season 3.

"Star Wars" fans had to go without "The Mandalorian" for more than two years following the conclusion of season 2 and, for many of us, it felt like forever. Now, it somehow feels like it's been no time at all as we're rolling right along through season 3. The latest episode, "The Foundling," is a relatively short adventure, but one that gave us much to chew on. From a big Order 66 flashback to yet another monster that Mando and his clan need to deal with, it's jam-packed. Perhaps overlooked in the proceedings is the fact that we learned a little bit more about the helmet rule that the Children of the Watch hold onto, and we now have a great many questions.

The Mandalorian is one of the most popular and engaging shows on Disney+. As the first live-action Star Wars series on the streaming platform, expectations were high when The Mandalorian premiered in late 2019 — and it met every one of them, rewarding fans who had been clamoring for a show that truly felt like “old school” Star Wars. At the forefront of the series is Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin/The Mandalorian. For many, Pascal is the heart and soul of the hit show. In a recent interview, Pascal admitted how special The Mandalorian is to him, revealing that he has no plans to ever stop playing the beloved character.

The Mandalorian has quickly become one of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars franchise. Pedro Pascal is credited for playing Din Djarin/the Mandalorian, but did you know he isn't always in the suit? During the 2022 Star Wars Celebration event, Pascal joked that Grogu has "two other daddies" because it takes multiple people to bring the character to life. So, who's really wearing the helmet? Well, it's actually a combined effort between Pascal and his doubles Brendan Wayne (who is the grandson of John Wayne) and Lateef Crowder, who both bring their own unique skills to the Mandalorian character.
In the 2020 docuseries "Disney Gallery: Star Wars: The Mandalorian," Pascal explained that Wayne and Crowder are behind a lot of the character's mannerisms and stuntwork. "I'm modeling my performance around their physicality in a lot of ways, and I wouldn't be able to do it without them,...

With the anxiously awaited third season of "The Mandalorian" coming to Disney+ on March 1, the current crown jewel of the "Star Wars" galaxy is going to quickly become much larger in scale and more epic in tone. The previous two seasons introduced lone bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his adorably cute cargo, Grogu, as they traversed the Outer Rim Territories in search of a Jedi capable of training the Mandalorian's small but powerful young passenger. In "The Book of Boba Fett," which essentially operated as "The Mandalorian" season 2.5, Grogu made the choice to return to Mando's care, setting the stage for a Force user to actually be welcomed into Mandalorian culture.

Pedro Pascal is currently battling fungus-infected zombies on HBO’s “The Last of Us,” but he’ll soon be returning to a galaxy far, far away when his popular “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian” returns for its long-awaited third season in March. Speaking to Empire magazine, Pascal got real about the challenges and limitations of wearing Mando’s intimidating armor.
“It’s like putting on a head-to-toe glove with weights on it,” Pascal said. “It’s ironic that you can’t see any facial expression because it puts you in the world so completely, and instantly makes the character feel real — but you can’t see shit!”
“They’ve continued to finesse and make it more comfortable, but it’s like going blind,” Pascal continued. “Your breath completely fogs up the narrow slit that you can see through. There’s no peripheral vision. If there’s a hole, I’m gonna fall into it.

New York Comic Con has announced its 2022 panel lineup, which includes a number of notable events taking place throughout the three-day convention.
Toplining the panels is a tribute to 45 years of “Halloween” and Laurie Strode with Jamie Lee Curtis, moderated by “Scream” star Drew Barrymore. The panel – which takes place Saturday, Oct. 8 – will find Curtis discussing her journey with the “Halloween” franchise up through the latest (and final?) installment “Halloween Ends.”
Nycc will also host the first-ever screening of “Violent Night,” a new film from director Tommy Wirkola (“Dead Snow”) that stars David Harbour as Santa Claus who takes on a crew of bad guys who aim to hold a family compound hostage. “You are a Mandalorian no more,” Pedro Pascal’s titular character is told in the first trailer for Season 3 of Disney+’s The Mandalorian. Watch it above.
It seems that’s not the only point of contention as we see scenes that seem to suggest an internecine war among those in the helmeted sect. We also hear Katie Sackhoff’s character Bo-Katan Kryze refer to them as “a cult.”

Sackhoff is returning to the series for Season 3 alongside newcomers Christopher Lloyd (in a guest-starring role), Nick Nolte in a voice-over role as the alien ugnaught Kuill. Brendan Wayne, Lateef Crowder, Giancarlo Esposito and Temuera Morrison also are returning.

Pedro Pascal admitted he may have been a little tentative about just how much success “The Mandalorian” could find among “Star Wars” fans.
The “Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” actor and “Narcos” alum leads the hit Disney+ series, which debuted in 2019. Pascal plays bounty hunter Din Djarin, who saves Baby Yoda and ventures on quests throughout the galaxy. Due to its unique plot and episodic structure (plus viral love for Baby Yoda), “The Mandalorian” was a breakthrough for the “Star Wars” canon.
“I think it was so easy to trust how much Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni love ‘Star Wars’ and [how they’re] taking that love and developing new ways of telling ‘Star Wars’ stories,” Pascal told Entertainment Weekly of signing on to the role. “That’s a big safety net. ‘The Mandalorian’ Team Teases Season 3, Rosario Dawson Talks ‘Ahsoka’ Story At Star Wars Celebration
Pedro Pascal shared only three words to describe the upcoming third season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian.
“Action. Spectacle. Surprises,” the star said Saturday during the second day of the Star Wars Celebration event held at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Pascal joined The Mandalorian bosses Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni and co-stars Brendan Wayne, Lateef Crowder, Giancarlo Esposito, Temuera Morrison and more for a panel centered on Disney+ series. The conversation, titled “Mando+: A Conversation with Jon Favreau & Dave Filoni,” saw Pascal and fellow members of The Mandalorian team tease what’s to come in the junior season, which will debut in 2023.
Whether it’s cameos, easter eggs or new characters, The Mandalorian has continued to delight Star Wars fans with a range of surprises throughout its run so far. Season 3 seems to be no exception as Pascal doubles down on the idea that “there are surprises coming” when...

"The Mandalorian" and "Ahsoka" will definitely be delighting Star Wars fans soon. On May 28 at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA, series creators Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni spoke about their hit Disney+ Star Wars series, "The Mandalorian": where it's been and its future, plus some major details about the new "Ahsoka" show. Popsugar was on hand for the discussion, which featured a host of surprise guests including Pedro Pascal, who plays the title Mandalorian, Din Djarin, and Rosario Dawson, who will star in "Ahsoka"'s first season in 2023.
Favreau said of leading the new world of Star Wars television on Disney+, "To me it's been a dream come true." He said his interest was in telling "personal stories" fit to the small screen, which would then be able to bring in people who don't necessarily know everything Star Wars already, but become interested in the world.

Strange rumors are nothing new in the Star Wars world, but if the internet has you wondering if Pedro Pascal left The Mandalorian, we can set you at ease. The so-called leak ahead of season two has had fans in a tizzy, but a closer look at it seems to pretty well debunk the idea that Pascal has left Din Djarin's armor behind.
Unsurprisingly, the rumor started with - you guessed it - social media. YouTuber Grace Randolph, who's posted inaccurate "leaks" before (mostly about DC Extended Universe projects), claimed in a reaction video to the season two trailer that Pascal had quit halfway through filming because he was upset about never getting to show his face. She claimed that Pascal wanted to have more scenes with Din Djarin's helmet off, was told no, and "became difficult" to the point of trying to get the Lucasfilm higher-ups to intervene on his behalf.

Last week, a worrying rumor started circulating that Pedro Pascal had exited The Mandalorian. Insider Grace Randolph shared that multiple sources had told her that the actor had proved “difficult” on set and was demanding a chance to take his helmet off in more scenes, due to the discomfort of wearing the heavy headgear. Producers wouldn’t budge on this, so Pascal was allegedly fired/resigned after a “pretty bad” split midway through production.
Of course, this isn’t what fans want to hear, to say the least, but thankfully, a new report has now come out which completely refutes the previous claims. Tipster Mikey Sutton of Geekosity has shared that his own sources close to the production “firmly deny” that Pascal has left the show in any capacity. And these sources provided a couple of reasons for why the Wonder Woman 1984 star making his alleged ultimatum wouldn’t make any sense.

Here’s a fun fact about The Mandalorian you might not have known: Pedro Pascal may voice the titular bounty hunter, but for much of the character’s screentime in season 1, he’s actually played in the flesh by stunt performers Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder. However, one of the few times Pascal filled out the armor was for the important scene where Ig-11 removes Din Djarin’s helmet in the finale, revealing his face to the audience for the first time.
It seems that things will be changing a bit for season 2, though, as Bespin Bulletin is reporting that Pascal was more directly involved with production on the sophomore run of the Disney Plus hit and got to suit up in the Mandalorian armor much more than in the first season. As you’d imagine, this is leading to speculation that Djarin will spend more time unmasked in the next batch of episodes,...

Moon Knight could be something very special. The upcoming Disney Plus show stars one of the more obscure and interesting Marvel heroes, often considered to be the company’s equivalent of Batman. The comparison isn’t perfect, though, as while Moon Knight is a relatively grounded hero like Bats, he also has strong supernatural elements to his story and a variety of low-level superpowers. But hey, he has a cool cape and cowl, creates fear in his opponents, lurks in the shadows and is referred to as a ‘knight,’ so that’s all pretty Batman-y.
Of course, the Disney Plus show will be his first live-action appearance and there’s been a lot of speculation over who will be behind the mask. Daniel Radcliffe has been previously linked to the part, but now we’re hearing that The Mandalorian‘s Pedro Pascal is also in contention. At least, that’s...

Bryce Dallas Howard didn't direct Pedro Pascal at all in The Mandalorian episode 4. Instead, it was Brendan Wayne in the Mandalorian armor.
As Disney+ continues to stream its first live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, there has been an open flow of behind the scenes tidbits - from the eye-wateringly good concept art for each episode that appears during the credits to interviews with the series' carefully-selected directors.
Bryce Dallas Howard directed the fourth episode of the series, "Sanctuary," which sees the titular bounty hunter meet a group of peaceful villagers in full crisis mode. It's all very Seven Samurai, and also managed to spawn about a million memes in its aftermath. If you consider yourself to be an even marginally "online" person, chances are you've seen a lot of them by now.

Pedro Pascal receives top billing on “The Mandalorian” for playing the title character, but it turns out that’s not actually Pascal underneath the helmet and armor in every episode of the buzzy Disney+ “Star Wars” series. In fact, at least one episode of “The Mandalorian” did not feature Pascal in any capacity. Bryce Dallas Howard tells Vulture that Pascal was absent from the fourth episode, “Sanctuary,” which she directed. Pascal did not act in the episode because he was starring on Broadway in “King Lear.”

Interview With Brendan Wayne On Cowboys & Aliens
As the grandson of John Wayne, Brendan Wayne is constantly asked about his grandfather. It doesn’t seem bother him at all though. The actor may not be as well known as his legendary, Oscar-winning grandfather, but he does respect that so many people are asking about how he was in real life. It may seem that Brendan has big shoes to fill (Ok, Huge shoes), but so far, he has been able to do quite well on his own terms.

By Michael Rozman. In some ways, it’s tough—and in others, not tough at all—to be Brendan Wayne. On the one hand, he co-stars in the new Jon Favreau–directed sci-fi blockbuster Cowboys & Aliens, which was a hit at last week’s Comic-Con in San Diego and opens tomorrow (July 29) pretty much everywhere. Despite being the lowest rung in an all-star cast, Wayne has received almost as much press coverage as his more famous co-stars, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, and Daniel Craig. But on the other hand, he is incessantly asked questions about his grandfather, who happens to be American cowboy icon John Wayne. It’s not just that Brendan Wayne has big shoes to fill; he might as well be an amputee and the shoes are the Grand Canyon. He would literally have better luck doing anything else in the world besides acting in a cowboy movie.

Producers Kept Wayne's Cowboy Roots A Secret From Film Cast
The producers and director of new sci-fi western Cowboys & Aliens kept star Brendan Wayne's famous family ties from the rest of the cast and crew for fear of turning John Wayne's grandson into a novelty on set.
The actor plays Keith Carradine's sheriff's deputy in the Jon Favreau film, but no one knew of his links to The Duke until he brought it up.
Wayne tells Cowboys & Indians magazine, "They didn't make a big deal about it... I realised that they'd sort of kept it a secret because they wanted me to have my own identity on the set.
"They wanted to be sure everyone just knew me as Brendan and I thought that was really thoughtful and respectful of them."
And Wayne insists his grandfather would have approved of the quirky western, in which Carradine, himself, Daniel Craig and bad guy Harrison Ford team up to battle aliens in the Wild West.
He adds, "He was always up for a challenge, so I would imagine he would have thought it was cool... I think he would have rolled his eyes at first, but then, based on what I've seen, he would have been really proud of it as a western."...

1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Daniel Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move onto its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). Its a town that lives in fear…But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one-by-one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.
Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts...

On Sunday, July 5th, the Hallmark Channel will premiere "Angel and the Badman," a remake of the 1947 John Wayne classic. Co-starring in the remake is Wayne's own grandson, actor Brendan Wayne.
Wayne has appeared in episodes of "The Closer" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," but this is the first time he'll appear in a remake of one of his grandfather's classic films.
The 1947 "Angel and the Badman" was the first film in which Wayne served as producer. The Hallmark Channel's "Angel and the Badman" also co-stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Luke Perry and Deborah Kara Unger.
