Apart from starring a Hollywood legend like Sylvester Stallone and featuring some of the finest action-packed, adrenaline-inducing fight scenes, the Rocky franchise is also known for having some of the most incredible musical scores. Yet it is the official soundtrack of the third movie. Rocky III’s Eye of the Tiger that towers over all the other songs.

A Grammy-winning, Oscar, Golden Globe, and BAFTA-nominated single, Eye of the Tiger has had an amazing run on countless music charts as well. Not only did it dominate the music scene back in the day but it also made the band Survivor a legend. However, Frankie Sullivan and Jim Peterik would have never gotten the golden opportunity for Stallone initially though the song did not have balls!

Following the journey of boxer Rocky Balboa, Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky franchise stands as some of his most renowned work across his extensive career. After the success of the original 1976 film, the action star reprised his role in multiple films under the franchise, facing off various opponents in the boxing ring. The third film in the series featured Rocky Balboa going off against one of the most iconic adversaries of the franchise, Clubber Lang, portrayed by Mr. T.

The “Chrysalis Night In” virtual fundraiser paid tribute to Broadway star Nick Cordero on Thursday night.
It was just two days before that the Tony-nominated actor woke up from a medically induced coma after complications from his battle with Covid-19.
The Chrysalis benefit was co-hosted by Zach Braff, who got emotional while talking about his best friend Cordero’s journey, while introducing a performance by the Los Angeles cast of “Rock of Ages.”
“Some of the most heartwarming support has been from Nick’s company of ‘Rock of Ages’ [Cordero starred in the production as Dennis]. They come and they walk the baby, they come and drop off food, they drop off flowers, they drop off wine,” Braff said. “It’s been so hard because we’re not supposed to touch each other and all you want to do is hold your friend and give them love. But this group of people are the most amazing company,...

For the past 20 years, Styx have put their fans in an impossible situation. Anyone who attends one of their shows not only misses out on seeing founder and ex-frontman Dennis DeYoung, but the current lineup doesn’t even play many of the hit songs he wrote and sang, including “Babe” and “The Best of Times.” They only recently gave in to years of pressure and added “Mr. Roboto” into the set.
DeYoung plays everything in the Styx catalog at his solo gigs, but he doesn’t have the name or...

'Eye of the Tiger' band Survivor. Infamous radical Christian county clerk Kim Davis, far-right U.S. presidential candidate Mike Huckabee sued by 'Eye of the Tiger' band Survivor The band Survivor, whose song “Eye of the Tiger” underlined the critical dud (but box office hit) Rocky III back in 1982, has filed a $1.2 million lawsuit against radical Christian Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis and fellow radical Christian and U.S. Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee. Without previous authorization, “Eye of the Tiger” was loudly played in the background of the circus show – large wooden crosses and all – staged after Davis' release from jail. She had spent all of five days in prison for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples following the U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage. Kim Davis Christian rally. Ok, this is pretty cool ... it's weird ... but it's cool. Jim Peterik -- the original lead singer of the band Survivor -- busted out his nicest guitar, and his tightest white pants, and jammed out an acoustic version of "Eye of the Tiger" in a basement ... and it was awesome. It all went down Tuesday night at a home in Chicago, where the guys from "Hardcore Pawn: Chicago" were holding a live chat for their fans.

Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich asked a federal judge Monday to dismiss the pending lawsuit filed by the co-writer of "Eye of the Tiger," demanding the candidate stop playing the song at campaign events.
In a defense filing received by U.S. District Court in Chicago, Gingrich denies any wrongdoing, arguing that the recordings constituted fair use and questioning the suit's jurisdiction, NBC Chicago reports.
The suit was formally filed by Rude Music, Inc., an Illinois corporation owned by Survivor band member Frankie Sullivan.
Sullivan's bandmate, Jim Peterik, who helped co-write the song, has spoken out against the lawsuit.
"My stance is that we wrote this song as a motivational anthem, right? And music is supposed to do a job; and if it can motivate people to get out and vote, and shake them out of the doldrums to get out to the polls, then it's doing its job," Peterik told Fox Chicago.
