Vanessa Claire Stewart was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended
Webster Conservatory for the Performing Arts, where she graduated with
honors. Shortly thereafter, she won a spot as a student at the
prestigious Oxford School of Drama in England.
Vanessa received an LA Weekly theatre award for her portrayal of "Alex" in Anthony Burgess' "A Clockwork Orange". She has also received 4 LA Stage Alliance awards for her musical "Louis and Keely: Live at the Sahara" directed by Taylor Hackford, and 1 LA Stage Raw award for writing Stoneface for the Pasadena Playhouse
An avid writer, Vanessa has had 3 screenplays and one TV series idea optioned, as well as one feature film produced. Her film "Chase the Slut" was an official selection of the Edinburgh Film Festival
She began her production company, "Pistol Lady Productions", in 2015 with Sarah Maria Newman.
