The teaser of Jubin Nautiyal’s song ‘Allah De Bande’ from the upcoming thriller film ‘Gumraah was unveiled on Thursday. The song’s teaser shows the film’s lead actor Aditya Roy Kapur jamming over an audio session with Nautiyal and composer Mithun Sharma, enjoying the vibe of the song inside the studio.
The visuals are complemented by Jubin’s vocals and violin played through VSTs and Midi interface.
‘Gumraah’ is the Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil film ‘Thadam’, and stars Aditya in dual roles.
The film, which also stars Mrunal Thakur and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles, follows the story of a killer on the loose with the needle of suspicion pointed at Aditya’s characters.

Sometimes the worst thing you do to a good thing is have too much of it. Like having too much of mama’s paneer pakore till you puke. Ajay Devgn has directed, acted and produced Shivaay. The tremendous effort that would have been demanded in pulling that off is not often seen in today’s Hindi cinema. But let’s get straight to the film at hand.
Shivaay has a basic premise that we have seen before, but with a few modernised twists. A father that goes to all lengths, leaps and latitudes to get his daughter back from child traffickers. Now before you think this is an Indian Liam Neeson’s Taken, Shivaay opens with Ajay Devgn collapsing on the ground, three bodies scattered several feet away next to a little doll. Then it moves on to a four-minute block of Ajay freefall mountaineering down the cliff to get payment for helping soldiers.

Talking about Bolo Har Har Har, Ajay said, “When you haven’t shot the film, you need to excite the technicians with the story and visualisation. I asked Mithoon to explore the sound for a movie, which is a combination of action, emotion and drama, along with the tenets of Lord Shiva. Each song takes the story forward. Shivaay’s soundtrack is all encompassing with different emotions just like the film.”

The fourth song of Shivaay, is intense and heart breakingly beautiful. Sung by Kailash Kher and composed by Mithoon on Sayeed Quadri’s soul quenching lyrics, the track has a haunting melody.
Picturised on Sayyeshaa and Ajay Devgn, Tere Naal Ishqa like Bolo Har Har Har, Darkhaast and Raatein takes the story forward.
Lyrics by Sayeed Quadri strung beautifully in an intense melody Tere Naal Ishqa is an exploration of Love in its purest form. A prayer that vests in each heart whether for a parent or a partner, the lyrics are multi layered and yet simple to remember.
Kailash Kher in his indomitable style has felt each word and internalised the pain expressed in the lyrics. His voice carries the meaning of the lyrics perfectly. There is a deep pathos in the song, a reverence to the emotion of love. Though others before have dwelled on the word Ishqa,...

‘Darkhaast’, the romantic track from Shivaay starring Ajay Devgn and Erika Kaar has passion and poignance in equal measure. Shot exquisitely against the Himalayan landscape, the song dwells on intimate moments between the film’s lead couple, who are madly in love.
While the magic of the song will unfold when it breaks online on September 22 at 12 noon, sources say that lyricist Sayyeed Qaudri and music composer Mithoon had a tough task working on it.
It is said that Ajay in his instruction to his music team was clear that each word had to be carefully chosen because Darkhaast isn’t just a song in the film. It is a track that captures the emotions and situation in which the couple are. It’s a crucial part of the narrative because it takes the story forward in rhyme.

Singer Arijit Singh's well-intended, but, woefully mistimed public apology to Salman Khan seems to have had a positive effect. Not one to forgive easily, this time, Salman has relented. Arijit's song in Sultan, which the singer so desperately pleaded to be retained, will apparently not be dropped. To flashback to the root of the rancour...apparently, at an awards function Salman Khan had said that Arijit's song 'Tum Hi Ho' in Aashiqui 2 puts him to sleep. To this, Arijit had reacted with a smirky, 'Nice!' Says a source close to the development, "Arijit over-reacted. Salman's anger was not directed at Arijit. Salman was actually pissed off at an awards function by Mithoon (the composer of the Aashiqui 2 numbers) who had reacted rudely to Salman's remarks." Apparently, after Arijit's public apology, the song in Sultan will be retained. Says a source, "It's not been decided whether Salman...

That moment when Madhuri and Shah Rukh are in adjoining changing rooms in a clothing store, and Madhuri hears him whistle a tune. She later hears it again and knows it was meant to be!

2014 was a fantastic year for music in Indian Cinema. We saw a definite shift from formularistic numbers to more nuanced tunes in step with the respective screenplays they would be featured alongside. Music directors were bold and brave, breaching familiarity and conventions to taking risks and we could not be more mesmerised by the results. Hamlet was adapted to a gritty and raw musical by Vishal Bhardwaj. Ankit Tiwari and Mithoon basically defied gravity by re-creating the magic of Aashiqui 2 with Ek Villian. Read on as Bollyspice closely chronicles 2014’s top 10 music directors.
10. Jeet Gangulay
Jeet Gangulay’s Citylights was the silent hit of 2014 with Arjit Singh’s Mukurane becoming a crowd favourite from the get-go followed closely by Mohd. Irfan’s unplugged version of the song. While Youngistan did not do well at the box office, Gangulay’s ‘Sangemarmar’ definitely left a mark. Similarly, ‘Sun Le Zara’ from Singham was equally effective.

2013 has been a stellar year for soundtracks, with constant innovation and the odd chartbuster that eventually tops your most played list on your iPod. There was a lot of fabulous collaborations like Vishal Bharadwaj and South-African band Umoja for Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola or the full on Southie beats for Chennai Express. There was a lot of regional flavour and experimentation with music directors like A.R. Rahman and Amit Trivedi looking to the sounds of Banaras and Gujarat for their fantastic albums. Whoever says there’s a dearth of good soundtracks, then look no further than our list of top albums of the year!

Mumbai, Dec 29: Composer Mithoon, known for providing music in films like "The Train" and "Bas Ek Pal", says he does not believe in songs that objectify women as it goes against his religious beliefs.
"My motive is not to create music that is against god. Like, I am a Christian and Jesus Christ had forgiven even a prostitute and gave her respect in front of everyone. Being a devotee of Jesus, if I make songs like 'Fevicol se' and 'Munni badnaam', then what is the way I am presenting women?," the 27-year-old said here Friday in an interview.
"Then I would have no right to call myself Christian. That is why I would never make vulgar.

Music composer Mithoon who made an impressive debut with Onir's Bas Ek Pal went on to give outstanding music in films like Anwar, The Train, Murder 2 and Jism 2. It is now learnt that music baron Bhushan Kumar has roped Mithoon for a three film deal under his banner of T-Series. Although the details of the films are being tightly guarded, one does learn that this may be Mithoon's first to sign up such a deal. Apparently, the composer doesn't play more than a song or two during music sittings. However, when he sat down to discuss the tunes with Bhushan, he ended up sharing 7 songs in one go and Bhushan loved them all. Confirming the reports, Bhushan jubilantly says, "Yes it's true that I've signed Mithoon for three of my films. I was thrilled to hear the songs he played me and I didn't want to miss even one of them.
