"I never really expected my life to turn out like this." Freestyle Digital Media has debuted the trailer for an indie dramedy titled Roads, Trees and Honey Bees, the feature directorial debut of young filmmaker Stephanie McBain. The film is about a trio of people on the move. Steve quits his job, gets divorced from his wife, and finds himself on a cross country journey with Connor Martin, a young, aspiring musician and his sister Sarah Martin, a college graduate who is looking for her next step. Together they embark on a journey to discover the pursuit of happiness and find their purpose in life - by driving to California. Starring Nick Nicotera, Donald Clark Jr., Nikki Leigh, Chris Mulkey, Jon Root, and Angela de Silva. This looks particularly unimpressive and forgettable, which explains why it hasn't played at any festivals or elsewhere. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Stephanie McBain's Roads,...

During a party in an abandoned asylum, teenagers perform an occult ritual that leads to a violent possession. After they become trapped in the building, they try to uncover the asylum’s dark past to survive.

First the Earth cooled, and then the dinosaurs came. Shortly after that we started talking about Marcus Nispel's upcoming film Backmask. Seriously, it's been about that long. Okay, so maybe we're exaggerating, but it sure feels like it!
Gage Golightly, Brittany Curran, Stephen Lang, Kelly Blatz, Brett Dier, Nick Nicotera, Nick Nordella, and Michael Ormsby star. Kirsten Elms penned the script that follows a group of teenagers who accidentally release an evil spirit that starts to possess them one by one.
Synopsis
During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vintage record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it's revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message.

Although German helmer Marcus Nispel's last few projects haven't exactly set the horror fantasy world alight we're hoping he can get back up on the podium with his long awaited 'Backmask'. The horror fueled story of some dopey teenagers who manage to summon a demon by playing a record backwards stars the gorgeous Brittany Curran -below ('Men of a Certain Age') and the actress has Tweeted a pic of herself having a right bloody good time in the movie. Back in 2003 director Nispel swapped music videos for features and turned out the impressive remake for 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'. Sadly ever since there's not been too much to shout about with the likes of adventure fantasies 'Pathfinder' and 'Conan the Barbarian' and the hugely subpar attempt at remaking iconic slasher flick 'Friday the 13th'. Stephen Lang, Kelly Blatz, Kevin Chapman, Gage Golightly...

Marcus (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003) Nispel's latest film, Backmask, is currently in post-production and at the American Film Market this week, the thriller is getting some exposure via a new teaser poster. You can see the image in its entirety inside.
During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vinyl record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it's revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message...and that the real source of horror isn't particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.
Brittany Curran, Gage Golightly, Nick Nicotera, Kelly Blatz, Brett Dier, Michael Ormsby and Nick Nordella star. There is no release date set for the film yet.

“Conan The Barbarian” and horror franchise reboot specialist Marcus Nispel has found the Final Girl for his new teen-centric horror movie “Backmask”. The lucky gal is Brittany Curran, who has been cast as Reign, the female lead in Nispel’s film. “Backmask” is the story of “a group of teenagers that accidentally releases an evil spirit that starts to possess them one by one.” Besides Curran, IMDb.com has Gage Golightly, Nick Nicotera, and Nick Nordella also in the cast. Curran is most known for her recurring part on TNT’s dramedy “Men of a Certain Age”, but she’s done movies, including 2008′s “The Uninvited”. Nispel will direct from a script by Kirsten Elms for Voltage Pictures. The producers recently took the film overseas to hawk to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival. Nispel, of course, is no stranger to horror movies featuring pretty young people fleeing from murderous masked killers.
