It’s the crossover we’ve all been waiting for. It looks like the cast of the original “High School Musical” films and the cast of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” will be colliding in Season 4 of the Disney+ series.
After spending the summer at camp, the Wildcats are returning to school for Season 4, only to find out that they’ll be featured extras in the long-awaited “High School Musical 4: The Reunion,” which is currently filming at their school.
And speaking of the original films, the students of East High will be returning to their roots for their fourth musical. This year, they’ll be performing “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.”
This, of course, answers the question as to why so many “HSM” alum have been spotted at East High recently, including Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Kaycee Stroh. While Disney hasn’t exactly confirmed...

Disney Channel’s early aughts dominance in the zeitgeist is unmatched: From original movie nights to after-school reruns, the flagship property is near and dear to a significant portion of Gen Z-ers.
Now, Disney+’s “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” Season 3 is overtly tapping into that nostalgia. Taking its name from the film franchise that launched the respective careers of its leads Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, the junior installment leans even more heavily into the properties that color its narratives than in earlier seasons, even featuring guest roles for “Hannah Montana” alum Jason Earles (who plays the grouchy Camp Shallow Lake director Dewey) and Og “HSM” star Corbin Bleu.
It’s a dynamic that Earles describes as “meta and bizarre,” reminiscent of the Channel’s early crossover episodes for its staple series, like “That’s So Suite Life of Hannah Montana.”

Olivia Rodrigo has shifted almost entirely into pop star mode, but she’s keeping one foot in the door at her old Disney+ stomping grounds, at least for now. According to Entertainment Tonight, the actress-turned-chart topper will reprise her lead role as Nina Salazar-Roberts on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series as a recurring character for season three.
The presence of Rodrigo’s character was notably diminished in the early episodes of season two, which was filmed in Salt Lake City — pre-“Drivers License” — during the making of her debut album Sour.

Corbin Bleu‘s getting his head back in the game as he prepares to revisit High School Musical. The star of the original franchise will appear in the third season of Disney+‘s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (Hsmtmts for short). The actor, who played Chad Danforth in the Disney Channel Original Movies, was announced as a guest star earlier this year alongside fellow Disney Channel vets Hannah Montana‘s Jason Earles and Zombies‘ Meg Donnelly. Considering Disney+’s surrounds a group of students who attend class at East High, the school where the original High School Musical was filmed, Corbin Bleu exists in this world as himself. (Credit: Fred Hayes / © Disney Channel / Courtesy: Everett Collection) Bleu made his High School Musical debut in 2006 and appeared as Chad in the follow-up films with 2007’s High Schoool Musical 2 and 2008’s High School Musical 3: Senior Year which received a theatrical release.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the premiere of Hannah Montana, and while Miley Cyrus is incredibly thankful for her time on the show, she also wants to remind people those days are far behind her. The 23-year-old singer took to Instagram and shared a conversation she had with her co-star Jason Earles, laughing about the fact that ten years had passed, and yet she's still rocking a blonde wig (which she's been wearing for her role in Woody Allen's upcoming television series). Despite the wig, Miley assured fans Hannah Montana "is chopped up into little tiny pieces" and buried in her backyard, referencing her SNL skit during which she joked that the famous Disney character had been...

Months after Miley Cyrus recounted her horrifying experience as a child star on the set of Hannah Montana, the "Wrecking Ball" singer/provocateur paid homage to her old TV home (with a nod to fellow former castmember Jason Earles) in an Instagram post celebrating the show's 10th anniversary. It's an earnest appreciation with a bit of cheeky humor thrown in; I especially like the part where she says Ms. Montana has been "chopped up into little tiny pieces and buried in my backyard." She also suggests people celebrate the series anniversary today by playing a drinking game, which for the record sounds like a terrible, terrible idea. Here's the post, have a great Thursday: @realdukeofearles understands the insanity of it all..... Sending love to all my cast members on this anniversary .... To the world it's a celebration of 10 years but for us the journey began way before the world had...

Last night one of you lovely readers out there caught a proofreading mistake I'd made in the column and pointed it out. Now, it's not unusual that I make slight spelling or grammar mistakes so I want all of you to know that please, feel free to let me know if you catch one. You can mention it in the comments or email me because I'm terrible at proofreading things I've written and am happy to fix them if they're really irking you. Most of the time. I've found that some of my spelling mistakes end up making things more amusing for all of us so some of them I just leave alone even if I know they're there. So, with that said, here's your Monday night TV:

In an interview with J-14 Magazine, Miley Cyrus spoke about walking on the set the first day of shooting with her mother, becoming comfortable with herself as she matures, and her thoughts on moving from the large franchise to her next role in a budget indie film.
