Vekeana Dhillon is a screenwriter, series creator and playwright who is placing original shows on major OTT platforms and TV networks. She has had five of her feature films produced and released internationally including Sohail Khan Production's award-winning Kisaan (2009) and cult classic I - Proud to Be an Indian (2004). She created and wrote the 21 episode contemporary fiction series Uncovidable (2020) for Audible. Vekeana has written Virat Kohli's Superhero series Super V (2019) for Disney+, Hotstar and Star TV Network, the highest rated show in the animation bracket in India.
She also wrote Wizcraft International's highly successful Musical, Balle Balle which completed its successful run in 2018. She's a former VJ for Channel [V] (Star TV Network). She's reported for BBC World Radio, it's General News Service and Asian News Network. Vekeana is featured in Bollywood Bound (2002)- a Gemini Award nominated National Film Board of Canada's documentary feature film.
She's proud to be acknowledged as one of Telefilm Canada's Premiere Writers. She was nominated for The Women's International Film & Television Showcase Foundation Jury Award which recognizes women for their dedication to their craft across cultural divides. Though not particularly relevant, but the mention of which keeps her chuffed, she was invited to appear on Canada's Smartest Person.
