Nearly four years have gone by since it was announced that Treehouse Pictures was developing a remake of the 1991 Christina Applegate cult classic Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (watch it Here) that would be directed by Bille Woodruff (Beauty Shop and the Honey quadrilogy) from a screenplay by Chuck Hayward (Dear White People). All that was revealed about the project at the time was that it would be “a present-day retelling centered on a black family.” Then that’s the last we heard about it. Apparently it made its way through production while flying under the radar, though, because Film Ratings has revealed that the remake has already received its rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board… and it’s a surprising one. While the original film was rated PG-13, the remake has earned an R rating for “teen drug use, language and some sexual references.”

At first the two Pennsylvania sisters, then just 7 and 4, saw their babysitter as a “welcoming face.”
But that friendly persona eventually revealed what prosecutors call “a real life boogeyman” — a man who allegedly sexually molested them over the course of four years, recording his crimes on the doors of a shed.
On Wednesday, almost two decades after their abuse and soon after their accused abuser was arrested, the sisters, now 26 and 23, came forward to speak out.
At a news conference at the offices of the Network of Victim Assistance, in Jamison, Pennsylvania, the women opened up about their lives after...

It’s a sight Jennifer Schorn, an assistant district attorney in Pennsylvania, will not soon forget: the mobile home of a suspected serial child rapist — allegedly filled with children’s used underwear, explicit photographs and other “trophies” collected over the years — that she toured last week with police.
“It was very late at night when I got the call that I needed to come down and see the trailer first-hand,” says Schorn, a Bucks County Ada, who talked to People to offer an inside look at how investigators came to arrest 58-year-old William Charles Thomas.
“This is all so depraved,...

Pennsylvania police believe they have captured a serial child rapist whose victims could stretch back 40 years and who allegedly kept a home of horrors documenting his perversions, authorities announced on Monday.
Describing him as a “real-life bogeyman” and “trophy collector,” prosecutors said they arrested 58-year-old William Charles Thomas, a mobile home park handyman in Falls Township, Pennsylvania.
Thomas is charged with child pornography and dissemination of child pornography, according to court records obtained by People. The records show he is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on additional charges in connection with a series of sexual assaults dating back to 1997, including five counts of child rape,...
