- Tabitha St. Germain is a Canadian actress who has been active as a voice actress in animation since 1985. Her most notable voice role so far was the white unicorn Rarity, a co-protagonist in the long-running fantasy series "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic" (2010-2019) and several of its spin-off projects.
Rarity was depicted as a ladylike fashion designer and businessperson, who spoke with a Mid-Atlantic accent. She operated a franchise of brand name flagship stores throughout Equestria, and owned the haute couture salon Carousel Boutique. She was brave and generous to a fault, but also arrogant and temperamental. She wanted to create clothing which would reveal the inner beauty of its wearers, and loved art and beauty in general. Her magical powers consisted primarily of telekinesis and an ability to locate hidden gems, though she at times formed force fields as protective shields. In combat, she typically punched or kicked her opponents in the face. Show creator Lauren Faust credited the actress Audrey Hepburn as the primary inspiration for this character.
St. Germain voiced several other characters in "Friendship Is Magic". The most important of them was the nocturnal Princess Luna, a co-ruler of Equestria, and younger sister of Princess Celestia. The effectively immortal Luna had abilities typical for a lunar goddess, and could also access the dreams of mortal beings. St. Germain also voiced Nightmare Moon, Luna's villainous secondary personality and one of the series' major villains.
St. Germain's other notable voice roles included the unattainable love interest Nazz Van Bartonschmeer in early episodes of "Ed, Edd n Eddy" (1999-2009), the schoolgirl Christy Lee in "Braceface" (2001-2004), the popular girl Jenni Anderson in "Martin Mystery" (2003-2006), Popeye's girlfriend Olive Oyl in "Popeye's Voyage: The Quest for Pappy" (2004), the Greek goddesses Aphrodite, Persephone, and Psyche in "Class of the Titans" (2005-2008), Andrea Sussman (the owner of the animal superhero Streaky) and the toddler Melanie Whitney in "Krypto the Superdog" (2005-2006), the kid superhero Captain Flamingo/Milo Powell in "Captain Flamingo" (2006-2008), the love-struck delivery girl Pucca in "Pucca" (2006-2019), the intelligent heroine Cheer Bear in "Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-lot" (2007-2010), the talking dog Martha Lorraine in "Martha Speaks" (2008-2014), the SHIELD agent Maria Hill in "Iron Man: Armored Adventures" (2009-2012), the benevolent witch Hilda Spellman and the adolescent female werewolf Veralupa in "Sabrina: Secrets of a Teenage Witch" (2013-2014), and the humanoid alien Princess Auriana of Volta in "LoliRock" (2014-2017).- IMDb Mini Biography By: Dimos I
