Character actor, born in the Dominican Republic. In the U.S. from 1949, spotted at the Equity Library Theater during a performance of "Heavenly Express" by the writer/director Richard Brooks. Gave his best performance as the juvenile delinquent in Blackboard Jungle (1955).

His very first film and the last one were both directed by Richard Brooks: Campos started his career with Blackboard Jungle (1955) and ended with Fever Pitch (1985).
