- James T. Callahan was born on October 4, 1930 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. He was an actor, known for Knight Rider (1982), The Governor & J.J. (1969) and Baa Baa Black Sheep (1976). He was married to Peggy Cannon. He died on August 3, 2007 in Fallbrook, California, USA.

- Served in the U.S. Army in West Germany during the early 1950s.
- His first job was in the postal service, after which he went back to complete his schooling in the midwest. On the advice of a teacher, he enrolled at the University of Washington where he discovered his passion for dramatic art.
- Although his acting career dates back to the early 1960s with hundreds of appearances, he is probably best known for playing Mr. Powell on the 80s sitcom Charles in Charge (1984). The Mr. Powell character was a proud Navy man while Callahan himself served in the Army.
- Diagnosed with esophageal cancer in February of 2007. Died six months later.
