Peter Berneis was born on 1 April 1910 in Berlin, Germany. He was a writer and actor, known for Escape from East Berlin (1962), Chicago Calling (1951) and Der Chef wünscht keine Zeugen (1964). He was married to Ina Berneis. He died on 4 November 1985 in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany.

Son of actress Gertrud Eysoldt and the painter Benno Berneis.

His writing career began in the U. S. in 1941.

He made silent movies in 1923 and 1924 as Peter Eysoldt, as a child.

He returned in 1953 to Germany, where he worked as a writer in films and television.
