Composer, author and hit songwriter ("The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane"),
educated at City College of New York. In World War II he served in the
14th USAAF. He was a staff writer for Mills Music, and composed special
music for Elvis Presley films. He joined ASCAP in 1947, and collaborated with
Sid Tepper. His other popular-song compositions include "Nuttin For
