In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Six Nations of the Grand River to support a new Woodland Cultural Center.
- His mother, Dolly Chrysler, died in 2009, while Robertson's natural father, Alexander Klegerman, died in a car accident before Robertson was born. Robertson subsequently adopted his stepfather's surname, Robertson, and it was not until Robertson was a teenager that he learned of his natural father's background, and soon developed a close relationship with his paternal uncles.
