‘Red One’ director Jake Kasdan has teased the movie will be "a little more kick-a**" than other festive flicks. The picture follows a rag-tag team of special forces as they try to save Christmas after Santa Claus is kidnapped from the North Pole, and the 49-year-old filmmaker has now said the movie will be a "more aggressive kind of action-comedy" that is usually seen in the season, while retaining some more traditional festive elements.During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said: "You don’t do this if you don't love Christmas movies."So a big part of it was trying to figure out how to bring in all of those Christmas elements, even in this slightly edgier, more aggressive kind of action-comedy and let them resonate on their own."The upcoming film - which hits cinemas in November - sees Kasdan reunite with Dwayne Johnson, 52, in what is the...

Amazon MGM Studios has released the brand new trailer for their upcoming action-advernture Christmas comedy Red One, and it's considerable step up from the teaser trailer as Callum Drift (Dwayne Johnson) and Jack O'Malley (Chris Evans) team-up to save Santa Claus (J. K. Simmons).
The new trailer takes a slightly more serious tone than the previous one and notably shifts the focus to Evans' character, who gets quite a bit more spotlight this time as he's recruited by the North Pole to aid their head of security, played by Johnson, in this high stakes rescue mission.
We don't want to read into it too much, but it seems clear the studios wanted to emphasize Evans' role a bit more. His character was the better received after the initial trailer and the former Avengers star does currently have a hot hand, following the blockbuster success of Deadpool & Wolverine, so it may...

Summer is over — the countdown to Christmas is on! And what would the festive season be without a brand spanking new holiday movie to warm the cockles of our hearts as we cradle our post-roast paunch? Well, there may be a pinch less cockle-warming and a dollop more bone crunching to look forward to in Jake Kasdan's Xmas blockbuster Red One, but the Jumanji director's upcoming action comedy — in which Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans star as an opposite-sides-of-the-tracks duo tasked with tracking down Jk Simmons' ripped (and kidnapped) Santa Claus — certainly has the talent to serve up a real seasonal treat. Check out the new trailer below:
Toy store portals? Check! Life-sized Hot Wheels? Check! The Rock and Captain America landing a double punch on Krampus whilst a pair of Rock 'Em Sock 'Em robots provide cover? That'll be a check too! Sure, Red One doesn't look likely...

Robin Williams is a gift that keeps on giving, even from beyond the grave. The iconic comedian who passed away 10 years ago has never had a dull moment on camera, making those alongside him split their sides with laughter every step of the way. However, there remains an unfathomable depth to the late actor who, despite inconceivable sadness in his own life, kept showing up for the world and his innumerable fans.

Choosing a particular Robin Williams classic out of his many works is similar to picking one’s favorite child. However, one that certainly stands out is Jumanji, the fantasy adventure film that later spawned a franchise starring Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart. Despite the star power contained in the later revival, the original 1995 film remains one of the all-time classics.

"There's worse ways to go out than trying to save Santa Claus." MGM Studios has revealed the first official trailer for Red One, a big holiday action comedy from filmmaker Jake Kasdan, the director of the recent Jumanji movies. Task Force must partner with the world's most infamous bounty hunter to save Christmas. Featuring J.K. Simmons as a super buff, badass Santa, referred to as just Nick. He gets kidnapped, somehow, by evil forces so "Callum Drift" – Head of Security for North Pole – brings in Jack O'Malley, an expert bounty hunter, to help find him and save Christmas. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nick Kroll, with Kristofer Hivju as Krampus & Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus. "Red One is a fire-breathing...

Now The Rock has a machine gun Christmas movie, ho-ho-ho.
Is it a stretch to say Dwayne Johnson has been in a bit of a slump of late? His return to wrestling earlier this year didn't go over well with WWE fans; his much-ballyhooed plan to change the hierarchy of the DC Universe with "Black Adam" and "DC League of Super-Pets" failed to pan out (but don't tell Johnson that); his Netflix action-comedy "Red Notice" was apparently watched by every single person on the planet yet nobody seems to remember a damn thing about it beyond the alcoholic product placement; and even his mega-expensive "Jungle Cruise" movie was the victim of a bungled hybrid streaming and theatrical release (although the tepid reviews probably didn't help).
Hoping to turn things around, The Rock is joining forces with his "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" and "The Next Level" director Jake Kasdan for "Red One,...

Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans face an unusual array of holiday challenges in the first trailer for their Christmas movie Red One.
Jake Kasdan’s action-comedy feature from Amazon MGM Studios is set for worldwide theatrical release on Nov. 15. Red One centers on North Pole head of security Callum Drift (Johnson) and naughty-lister Jack O’Malley (Evans) teaming up after the disappearance of Santa Claus, who is known as “Red One” and played by J.K. “Are you saying Santa Claus has been kidnapped?” Evans asks in the trailer.
Rounding out the cast are Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Nick Kroll, along with Bonnie Hunt as Mrs. Claus.

Friends. South Park. Frasier. Family Guy. Some of TV’s longest-running sitcoms premiered in the 1990s, and remain relevant and beloved if not still producing new episodes today. But a decade is a long time, executives try a lot of ideas to fill their schedules, and since broadcast TV programming is kind of a zero-sum game, far more sitcoms premiered than ever found an audience. The question is: which ones deserved better?
A word on methodology here: I took the term “forgotten” very literally. That means I didn’t consider any ‘90s sitcom that’s streaming on a legitimate pay or subscription platform; any ‘90s sitcom that lasted more than one season; and any of which only the pilot is available to watch — illegitimately, since pilots have to jam in so much exposition that judging a show’s quality by that episode alone doesn’t offer an accurate picture of where it aspires to go.

Frank Darabont's 1999 Oscar darling "The Green Mile," based on an inexplicably serialized novel by Stephen King, is set in 1935 Louisiana in the fictional Cold Mountain Penitentiary, specifically the prison's death row. The correctional officers are overseen by Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks) who struggles to retain his soul working such a dire job. The floor that leads to the prison's electric chair is painted green, earning it the titular nickname. Paul attempts to wrangle his officers' cruelty and retain what little hope he can, even after witnessing the state execute prisoner after prisoner. To make matters worse, he's suffering from a bladder infection.
The wildest prisoner on death row is William "Wild Bill" Wharton, played by the always amazing Sam Rockwell. Wharton was clearly mentally ill, and would frequently assault the officers, forcing him into a padded cell. He spat insults and racial epithets, flashing his yellowed teeth and horribly casual hate.

Roll out the red carpet because Ethan Coen’s upcoming feature, Honey Don’t, is ready to add some of Hollywood’s heaviest hitters to the cast. Coen will reteam with Margaret Qualley for the new project, with Aubrey Plaza, and Chris Evans leading the cast. Details about the plot remain a mystery, but whispers around the watercooler suggest it’s a comedy in the vein of Focus Features‘ Drive-Away Dolls.
Coen teased his follow-up to Drive-Away Dolls in July of last year. Coen directs Honey Don’t! from a script he wrote with his wife, Tricia Cooke. The duo paired off for Drive-Away Dolls, starring Qualley and Geraldine Viswanathan. The duo’s Drive-Away Dolls revolves around Jamie, an uninhibited free spirit bemoaning yet another breakup with a girlfriend, and her demure friend Marian, who desperately needs to loosen up. In search of a fresh start, the two embark on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee,...

Red One: Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson’s holiday action comedy to bring cheer to theaters next year
Next year’s holiday season is already looking merry and bright at the box office as Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans’ holiday action comedy, Red One, plans on riding a sleigh into cinemas. The Amazon MGM and Seven Bucks Christmas film is still spreading holiday cheer on Prime Video, but the project’s global theatrical debut happens on November 15, 2024.

In addition to Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans, Red One also stars a shredded J.K. Simmons,...
