The McKeans are even members of a celebrity committee connected with the foundation.

Funds were raised for Cure Autism Now and Autism Speaks. The event was produced by Word Theatre, a literary salon located in Los Angeles.

- March 17, 2008: Michael McKean and her participated as guest readers in "Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words" at the Triad Theater in New York City. Some of the event's proceeds went to The Actors Fund. It was the second time for Michael's involvement. It was the first for Annette. The couple did another edition of the show again at Cobb's Comedy Club in San Francisco on January 19, 2009.
- James Frain, Gareth Saxe and Annette are some of the celebrities featured in "More Recipes & Reminiscences", a cookbook written by Roy Harris, the stage manager of the current Broadway revival of "The Homecoming." Frain and Saxe are two of the cast members featured in the revival along with Eve Best, Ian McShane and Michael McKean, Annette's husband.
- Kyle Chandler and her are two of the celebrities featured in "The Sweater Book," a coffee table book filled of photos of famous people wearing the same sweater.
- Plays the role of Paulina in the Classic Stage Company's Off-Broadway revival of "The Seagull" by Anton Chekhov. The production closes on April 13, 2008 in New York after a limited run which began on February 20th.

- 2008: Is playing the role of Maryanne in "Kindness," a new play written and directed by Adam Rapp for Playwrights Horizons, an Off-Broadway theater company. The production closes on November 2nd.
- She and Michael McKean participated in Harry Shearer and Judith Owen 's annual holiday sing-a-long at the Steve Allen Theater in Los Angeles. The event was held December 5th and 6th of 2008.
- 2009: Portrays the role of Lily in "Magnolia," a new play by Regina Taylor at Chicago's Goodman Theatre. Opening night was March 23rd.

- February 9-10 2010: Did a staged reading of a new Stephen Metcalfe play with Beau Bridges at the Pasadena Playhouse.
- (May 17, 2010) Did a reading of Adam Rapp's new play at the Public Theater in New York. Husband Michael McKean also participated.
- (February 25, 2011) Did a reading of a new musical titled "Southern Comfort" for Playwrights Horizons, an Off-Broadway theater company. The musical is based on the 2001 documentary of the same name. She portrayed Robert Eads. Update: She is playing the same role again from October 5th to October 29th at the CAP21 theatre in New York.
- Worked with Playwrights Horizons theater again in April of 2011. She played the part of Dorine in an one night production of Moliere's "Tartuffe."
