Nick Kroll has joined the cast of the Broadway show All In: Comedy About Love.

The comedian and Big Mouth co-creator will join the rotating cast from Jan. 14 through Feb. 2, acting alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda, Aidy Bryant, Andrew Rannells and Jimmy Fallon. He replaces previously announced cast member Sam Richardson.

The play kicks off with John Mulaney from Dec. 11 through Jan. 12 and other cast members including Fred Armisen, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Richard Kind and Chloe Fineman. All In: Comedy About Love runs at the Hudson Theatre through Feb. 16, with an official opening night on Dec. 22.

The show, written by Simon Rich and directed by Alex Timbers, features a series of humorous stories about dating, heartbreak, marriage and more, adapted from short stories written by Rich that had previously appeared in The New Yorker.

Musical duo The Bengsons (Abigail and Shaun Bengson) will be performing songs from The Magnetic Fields during the show.

ESPN, Disney, The Simpsons, and the NFL will premiere The Simpsons Funday Football on Monday, Dec. 9, an animated Monday Night Football game transformed in real-time into the iconic Simpsons world using Sony’s Beyond Sports Technology.

Atoms Stadium in Springfield will host the fully immersive fan viewing experience featuring the Cincinnati Bengals at the Dallas Cowboys, ESPN’s Monday Night Football game that evening.

The Simpsons Funday Football alternate viewing presentation will stream on Disney+ and ESPN+ and, on mobile, with NFL+. The traditional Monday Night Football telecast will be available on ESPN, ABC, and ESPN Deportes with Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli on ESPN2.

Both the traditional telecast and Peyton and Eli will also be on ESPN+, making each distinct presentation available in the ESPN App. All telecasts will begin at 8 p.m. Et.

When the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 9, you may be surprised to see some new players on the field in the form of Bart and Homer Simpson.

That’s because in addition to the regular “Monday Night Football” telecast, ESPN+ and Disney+ will be offering a live, animated recreation of the game with “The Simpsons Funday Football.”

The House of Mouse dropped a teaser for the state-of-the-art sporting experience during halftime of Monday’s game. While the clip only shows Bart siding with the Bengals and Homer backing the Cowboys, the December game promises many more appearances from Springfield — including Krusty, Nelson, Milhouse, Ralph, Carl, Barney, Lenny and Moe. Characters from the long-running animated series “The Simpsons” will join a December 9th “Monday Night Football” game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys in an animated “alterna-cast” that will stream on Disney+, ESPN+ and NFL+ while the usual traditional broadcast airs on ESPN. In the kids’ version of the game, Bart Simpson will play at times for the Bengals and his father, Homer, will fight for the Cowboys, while sister Lisa and mother Marge will interview players while baby Maggie operates the sky-cam.

On Dec. 9, Disney+ and ESPN+ will stream the Dallas Cowboys-Cincinnati Bengals matchup, but it will take place in Springfield’s Atoms Stadium, with all the players replaced by dozens of animated characters based on those from the Fox and Disney+ series The Simpsons.

It will be the second year in a row that Disney+ will stream an animated version of an NFL game, but this year’s game will be bigger on multiple fronts: For starters, it is a Monday Night Football matchup, not a Sunday morning game like last year’s Toy Story game.

This year’s New York Comic Con saw The Simpsons hold its first-ever panel at the event. It consisted of creator Matt Groening, showrunner Matt Selman, voice actor Hank Azaria and writers/producers Carolyn Omine and Tim Long.

One of the questions asked was when, if ever, another Simpsons movie would be forthcoming, as there hasn’t been a theatrical adventure for Springfield’s first family since 2007. Groening joked that it’d be in “2042,” but Selman was a bit more revealing, explaining that another film is something that’s been discussed. While he cautioned that “this isn’t an announcement,” he did say, “There probably will be another Simpsons movie.”

In early 2023, The Simpsons was renewed for two seasons, and this is the final year of that order. Now that the series is owned by Disney, it seems only a matter of time before the show leaves Fox.  It's already been announced that four episodes will run exclusively on Disney+. That's a first. Lin-Manuel Miranda will lead the second company of Simon Rich’s All In: Comedy About Love on Broadway this January, taking over when John Mulaney finishes up his limited run in a production featuring a revolving cast of actors.

The production, directed by Alex Timbers, begins performances on Wednesday, December 11 at the Hudson Theatre with the previously announced Mulaney-led cast of Fred Armisen, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Richard Kind and Chloe Fineman.

In a second roster of cast members for the final five weeks of the production, Miranda takes over on Tuesday, January 14, running through Sunday, February 16. Appearing on various dates during Miranda’s run will be Aidy Bryant, Andrew Rannells, Sam Richardson, Jimmy Fallon, David Cross, Tim Meadows and Hank Azaria

Lin-Manuel Miranda will take over from John Mulaney in the Broadway cast of All In: Comedy About Love, with castmates including Jimmy Fallon, Hank Azaria and Aidy Bryant.

Mulaney will lead the cast, including Saturday Night Live stars Fred Armisen and Chloe Fineman, Girls5Eva‘s Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Richard Kind, for the first five weeks of the play. He is in the show from Dec. 11 through Jan. 12.

In addition to Miranda, Fallon, Azaria and Bryant, the cast for the second five weeks includes Andrew Rannells, Sam Richardson, David Cross and Tim Meadows. Miranda leads the cast from Jan. 14 through Feb. 16.

The play, written by Simon Rich and directed by Alex Timbers, will run at the Hudson Theatre.

Bryant is in the cast from Jan. 14 through Feb. 2. Rannells appears from Jan. 14 through Jan. 26.

The 2024 Creative Arts Emmys has handed out its first night of awards.

The annual two-day event, which takes place the weekend before the Primetime Emmys, is currently in the middle of handing out 99 awards to mostly below-the-line categories. Awards announced on Saturday include honors for variety programming, nonfiction and reality.

Saturday’s big winners included Jim Henson Idea Man, Saturday Night Live, Billy Joel: The 100th — Live at Madison Square Garden, Welcome to Wrexham and The 96th Oscars, which each took home multiple trophies. (Jimmy Kimmel, who won as an EP for The Oscars, joked that the win does not change his mind about not wanting to host again this year). Angela Bassett also landed her first Emmy win (after nine nominations) for narrating Nat Geo docuseries Queens, and The Traitors‘ Alan Cumming broke RuPaul’s record-setting winning streak for reality or competition program host.

The Primetime Emmys air on Sunday night, September 15, on ABC, but that’s not where most of the awards will actually be handed out. The vast majority will go out at the Creative Arts Awards over two nights this weekend on September 7 and September 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. So who will win?
