Robert Kent Worthington was born in Evanston, Illinois. He was the youngest of four sons of Everett Ellsworth Worthington, an industrial designer in the art deco era and Judith Lucile (Whitaker) Worthington an actress prior to their marriage. Her mother was the actress Orma Raymond.
During the mid 1950's he joined the Navy and was a 'frogman' in an Underwater Demolition Team. His skills led him to become part of the construction crew and maintenance team of Disneyland's Submarine Voyage which opened in 1959.
He lived in the San Fernando Valley while working on films. He was married with two sons. He passed on 17 Jan 2004 in Los Osos, California.
