Lovely and charming brunette actress Nadine Van der Velde was born on
May 14, 1962 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She made her film debut in a
small role in the raunchy teen sex comedy
Private School (1983). Nadine gave
a lively and engaging performance as the spunky "April Brown" in the
delightful Những con nhím ngoài hành tinh (1986). She was
likewise appealing as "Cindy" in
Munchies (1987) and once again solid as
the perky "Joan" in the "The Old Dark House" segment of the immensely
enjoyable horror anthology
After Midnight (1989). Van der
Velde was excellent in a rare substantial leading part as troubled
aspiring dancer "Jessica Lilliane" in
Shadow Dancing (1988). Nadine made
guest appearances on the TV shows
Otherworld (1985),
CBS Schoolbreak Special (1984),
The Wizard (1986),
Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1985),
Sweating Bullets (1991),
Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1993)
and JAG (1995). Van der Velde's last role
to date was as aspiring singer "Reggie Tweed" in
East of A (2000); she also co-wrote the
script for this film. Nadine has since gone on to a successful career
as a writer for children's pictures and television programs: she's
penned several episodes of the show
Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends (2004)
and the screenplays for two "Rolie Polie Olie" movies. Moreover, she
won two daytime Emmy Awards for her work on the
Rolie Polie Olie (1998)
animated TV series.
