The Night Agent received an early season 3 renewal last month, and the cast is already coming together. Genesis Rodriguez is now in talks to join the new season of The Night Agent in a series regular role.
Details on her role are being kept under wraps, but The Night Agent season 3 is slated to start shooting in Istanbul at the end of the year and continue in New York in early 2025. Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is “a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.” The series stars Gabriel Basso, Luciane Buchanan, Hong Chau, D.B. Woodside, Eve Harlow, Sarah Desjardins, and more.

Coming off the back of several underwhelming episodes, the final episode in Taylor Sheridan’s Tulsa King season 2 had some big boots to fill. Although the finale doesn’t quite succeed in leaving an indelible mark on the medium of television, one thing that this episode, and the show in general, has got continuously right is Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight.

While Dwight has proven to be a lot more humane than some other notable gangsters in fiction, which helps his character to stand out, the finale does briefly touch on his coldness, proving why he is the rightful king of Tulsa.

Deep in the heart of Texas one might think of cowboys, cattle and rodeos. But Landman, the new series co-created by Christian Wallace and Yellowstone boss Taylor Sheridan, wants viewers to also think about Texas tea and black gold with the new streaming offering about the oil business starring Billy Bob Thornton.
Based on journalist-screenwriter Wallace’s Boomtown podcast, from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the Paramount+ series explores the multibillion-dollar oil industry in West Texas in a storytelling style that is likely to remind viewers of Sheridan’s megahit Paramount Network saga Yellowstone. The podcast focused on the Permian Basin in West Texas in 2019.
Although the oil fields, known as “the patch,” were producing a significant amount of product and paying the lowest workers in the fields hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, the community in West Texas also faced high rents, schools that were overcrowded and some...

While Yellowstone went down as one of the finest Western pieces that Kevin Costner has been a part of to date, it is also the project that earned him quite a bit of controversy when he decided to leave it. As much as he worked closely with Taylor Sheridan to bring the show to life, their reported fallout with Costner’s infamous exit was nothing short of unbelievable either.

With the actor’s leave, his character John Dutton, who served as the head of the Dutton family in the respectable saga, had to exit the drama as well. For the same, showrunner Sheridan racked his brains to devise an end that he ostensibly felt to be the most feasible. But the surprising part is that he doesn’t seem to have honored Costner’s suggested ideas while doing so.

After a long wait, Taylor Sheridan’s Western drama Yellowstone is finally back with the second half of its fifth season. The tenth episode of season 5 deals with the fallout from the major revelation in the previous episode while focusing on Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. In the process, the episode also strongly hints at a spin-off series that has long been in development.
Yellowstone season 5 episode 10 hints at an upcoming spin-off series (Credit: Paramount Network).
The tenth episode sees Beth visit Rip at the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas, which has slowly become a mainstay of the series. However, the tenth episode seems like a backdoor pilot for an upcoming series based on the Texas ranch. If that is indeed the case, Taylor Sheridan seems to have forgotten the important message at the core of Yellowstone, and here is what it means for its future.

Better believe that fans are raging over the latest ‘Yellowstone’ episode which saw Kevin Costner’s John Dutton die by a gunshot wound. The patriarch’s death was initially taken to be suicide until viewers realized that Dawn Olivieri’s Sarah Atwood – the girlfriend of John’s estranged son Jamie (Wes Bentley) – had hired a hitman to kill him.
While it marked the most viewed episode of the Paramount series so far, it is also perhaps the most negatively critiqued by fans. Some chose to see John’s death as resulting from Costner’s exit, but lead star Luke Grimes is here to tell us that it’s not essentially the case.

Yellowstone’s landscape has changed forever with the death of the main character, John Dutton, and fans are not happy with the new view of the ranch.
Yellowstone’s patriarch, John Dutton, played by veteran actor Kevin Costner, died a gruesome death that has been labeled suicide in Season 5b, episode 9.
John’s death would happen eventually because of the sad fact that no one cheats death, but because of a dispute between Kevin Costner and the show, the death occurred prematurely.
It makes sense that a big star the size of Kevin Costner would want to greenlight his project; in this case, it was Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1.
Unfortunately, the Yellowstone filming schedule could not accommodate Kevin’s dream, and now, with John Dutton’s death, the fans are paying the price.

Yellowstone‘s never-ending plot twists and family politics have become so convoluted after five long seasons that the final 6 episodes may not be enough to salvage the show from certain doom. As the series makes its last stand, with the never-ending volatile tension now reaching a mercurial peak, Wes Bentley says, “If this doesn’t go well… it’s probably over.”

This statement not only echoes his character, Jaime Dutton’s fate in the finale but also how Yellowstone will go down in television history. With Kevin Costner’s patriarchal figure John Dutton now dead (written off from the show in an off-screen death), it falls on the warring siblings to shoulder the responsibility of Taylor Sheridan’s neo-Western creation and carry it to the finish line.

Part two of Yellowstone’s fifth season has sparked outrage from fans after the sudden death of Kevin Costner’s character, John Dutton.
Two years after the last episode of the show was aired, the fate of Costner’s character was quickly revealed, as the episode began with Kelly Reilly‘s Beth Dutton and Luke Grimes‘ Kayce Dutton finding out that he had been shot and killed.
Initially, the death appeared to be a suicide, but it was later discovered that lawyer Sarah Atwood murdered John.

Although Yellowstone‘s acclaimed run at TV was cut short following Kevin Costner’s exit, which is now set to conclude next month, this isn’t stopping Taylor Sheridan from exploring the western landscape. Taylor Sheridan never stops working. We are lucky that the multi-hyphenate talent has given us everything from historical epics to contemporary melodramas while developing a roster of writers and directors he can rely on to shepherd his various ideas into popular television programming. Through his various series, Sheridan has been more hands-on with some than others, and Landman benefits from having his involvement as a writer on all ten episodes and director on the first two. Landman is not only another solid entry in Sheridan’s expanding roster of projects but also his best series since the first season of Yellowstone (Read Our Review).

This article contains mild spoilers for the latest episode of "Yellowstone" season 5 part 2.
What does a modern rancher eat, drink, and wear? Before Paramount Network's "Yellowstone" became big, the average person might have been able to hazard a throwaway guess about stew, whiskey, and 10-gallon hats. Viewers of the show have, however, no doubt noticed that the real answer is far more specific, at least when it comes to characters hovering around the Dutton Ranch. In fact, "Yellowstone" season 5 part 2 features so much product placement that several fans have been calling the series out for overdoing it. One of the fans who have spoken against the show's brand-heavy nature is @VeNoM_DEO, who posted about it on X (previously known as Twitter):
"So far, this season of #Yellowstone has a ridiculous amount of product placement, mostly Taylor Sheridan's brands. It's way too noticeable and forced."

This article contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Yellowstone" season 5 part 2.
When one door closes, another one opens. "Yellowstone" season 5 will supposedly see Taylor Sheridan's acclaimed neo-Western drama ride off into the sunset when it's all said and done. That said, what if the plan is for the series to end as predicted, and for Reilly and Hauser's characters to join the "6666" spin-off instead?
The show's latest episode, "The Apocalypse of Change," sees Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) reunite at the Four Sixes ranch and head off to a speakeasy for a night of romance and cocktails in a rattlesnake-free zone. Add the latest episode of Yellowstone to the list of epic confrontations between Beth and Jamie Dutton.

Kevin Costner is fine with Yellowstone killing off John Dutton in the ninth episode, of Season 5. While fans knew that Costner wouldn’t be returning to the final season, they didn’t expect the series to give such a goodbye to the character. Fans have expressed outrage on social media platforms over the Dutton family patriarch’s off-screen murder.

It looks like movies aren’t quite what some artists are after these days — or at least they weren’t back in the day. In 2014, Billy Bob Thornton made the big move to TV, looking for something different. According to him, films just weren’t getting the same kind of space they used to.

Every oil company has a landman, we learn in the premiere of Taylor Sheridan’s new Paramount+ drama. The person in this position secures the company’s rights to drill land, keeps the employees in check and generally keeps things running — even if he has to do things that aren’t exactly legal to make that happen.
Tommy Norris (played by Billy Bob Thornton) holds that role in Landman, which premiered Sunday, and he’s good at it. Within minutes of the series’ premiere, he’s dealing with a drug lord’s plane that has landed on one of the...

[This story contains spoilers from the second episode of season 5B of Yellowstone.]
Yellowstone answered its largest looming question with last week’s season 5B premiere when the Paramount Network series revealed that departed cast member Kevin Costner’s John Dutton has died, the result of a murder-for-hire plot that is masqueraded as death by suicide. With its second episode in the mega-return of TV’s No. 1 series, Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan again wasted little time before delivering on the next highly anticipated moment: What will happen when warring siblings Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) come face to face?
Yellowstone viewers got that answer when the second episode returned to the present timeline and Jamie, Montana’s Attorney General, finds his sister waiting for him in his office. In her bones, Beth knows that Jamie is responsible for their father’s death, but she needed to look him in the eyes in order to get her proof. When...

You might still be catching your breath from the long-awaited return of “Yellowstone,” but series creator Taylor Sheridan already has a new show launching, too. “Landman” will join Sheridan’s other recent hits “Tulsa King,” “Mayor of Kingstown” and “Lioness” in streaming on Paramount+, and once again, Sheridan has attracted a cast full of movie stars and familiar faces.
From Sheridan and co-creator Christian Wallace, the series is based on the podcast “Boomtown” and follows the upstairs/downstairs battle for land, oil and fortune in a West Texas boomtown. “Landman” stars Billy Bob Thornton alongside Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, Michael Peña and Ali Larter, as well as Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie and Paulina Chávez.

Ali Larter plays a complex ex-wife in Taylor Sheridan’s new TV show, Landman. This portrayal is different from the usual one in a high-stakes story about problems in the Texas oil industry.
Angela Norris, played by Larter, goes through a lot after her marriage falls apart because of a downturn in the oil business. Larter plays a complex role opposite Billy Bob Thornton, balancing co-parenting and personal strength.
“In Taylor, she makes strong women who are not just stereotypes,” Larter said in a recent interview. It becomes clear that she is a complicated person trying to keep her family together while facing big emotional and financial problems.
The show is based on the popular podcast “Boomtown” and examines how the oil boom changed West Texas. Through human stories, it looks at how the industry changes local economies, climates, and political landscapes.

Yellowstone Season 5 resumed after a nearly two-year hiatus earlier this month, and viewers were dealt a massive blow in the midseason premiere when Kevin Costner’s John Dutton was killed off.
When the series debuted in 2018, Kevin Costner was the main attraction and received most of the attention because he was an A-list movie star making the jump to the small screen.
Kevin’s strong presence underpinned the first four and a half seasons, and most of the storylines wouldn’t have been compelling without John.
So, why did the series write out the number one name on the call sheet with a handful of episodes remaining?
There have been conflicting reports over the last two years about drama behind the scenes, but if we read between the lines, it seems Kevin had a falling out with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan over shooting days for Season 5B.

“A landman has the weight of the world on his shoulders,” Billy Bob Thornton tells TV Insider about his Landman character Tommy Norris, who does the burdensome dirty job in the West Texas oil fields in this series written and executive produced by Yellowstone‘s Taylor Sheridan. “He procures the land for the drilling deals, [sometimes] with a lot of nefarious characters, and is out there in the fields with the guys.” “Taylor wrote [the role] for me. I mean, he actually said, ‘I have your voice,’ because we’ve worked together before and had known each other a little. I said to him, ‘I think it’s half my voice and half yours,’” says Thornton. “I was raised down there but I didn’t realize how many sort of ex-cons and felons and stuff like this are working on these crews.” Landman debuted its first two episodes on Sunday, November 17 on Paramount+,...

Taylor Sheridan’s super successful “Yellowstone” has been compared to “Dallas,” the grandaddy of primetime soap operas, often enough. So why wouldn’t Sheridan take a stab at his own Texas-set, oil industry melodrama?
“Landman” is that. And what’s pleasantly surprising about this Permian Basin blend of big business brinkmanship, family conflict and horrific on-the-job accidents is that it’s so damn funny.
Most of the laughs are intentional, too. A rich deposit of them should be credited to star Billy Bob Thornton, who can deliver astute lessons in petrochemical economics one minute then tell a bartender “I quit drinkin’, I’ll stick with beer” the next. The “Goliath” and “Bad Santa” star maintains exasperation in his drawl throughout and doesn’t waste a second resetting tone from heartfelt to pissed off to sarcastic, reliably punctuating all of it with redolent cusswords.

Is Landman any different than anything Taylor Sheridan has previously made? My answer is no. In the first two episodes of Landman, you meet a fixer named Tommy Norris, who’s basically an old and grumpy version of Mike McLusky. Yes, Landman is set in a different world that explores a whole different profession, but what else? And I am sure the locals and the die-hard fans of Sheridan won’t agree with me, so I’ll keep those opinions to myself for now and move forward with the recap of the Landman premiere.
Spoiler Alert
Meet Tommy “Tom” Norris
So, Tommy’s the man to call if you need someone to make deals with unsavory types. He isn’t the blue-collar type. He doesn’t beat around the bush, and he likes to hunt in the wild. Tommy speaks plain and simple, sometimes too blunt, but that’s the local lingo.

Taylor Sheridan is proving that he is the big boss with every new show he creates. When he’s not speeding through scripts for the Zoé Saldana-led ‘Special Ops: Lioness’ – which, believe it or not, he works on solo, like no writer’s room needed – he’s rounding up ‘Yellowstone,’ overseeing its spinoff ‘The Madison’ and even creating a “human” show that matches Billy Bob Thornton’s character. Sheridan is eating a lot of Paramount’s money, but you can’t say he doesn’t deliver.

Taylor Sheridan has done it again. His new series Landman on Paramount+ drops viewers right into the rough, risky world of Texas oil, as only Sheridan can.
To be clear, critics will not love this show. Just as they have overlooked other Sheridan works like Yellowstone and Tulsa King, they will downplay Landman’s entertainment value and the messaging within it. Don’t let that stop you from taking this ride.
In the first two episodes, we meet Tommy, played to the hilt by Billy Bob Thornton. Tommy knows the oil business inside out and isn’t afraid to use that knowledge to get what he wants.
Landman Season 1 Episode 1 wastes no time getting into the action. Tommy deals with everything from drug traffickers to family drama. It’s a world where money and power rule; Landman reveals the cost of getting to the top.

Over the years, I’ve lost track of how many “Yellowstone” spinoffs Paramount is actually making. There are the prequels “1883” and “1923” (originally titled “1932”); the upcoming sequel, “The Madison” (formerly “2024”); and then there’s “6666” and “1944,” both of which are still in development. Eventually Taylor Sheridan is going to run out of numbers, but until then, his ever-expanding Taylorverse shows no signs of slowing down.
Still, he’ll have to excuse me for assuming “Landman” — a modern western set in West Texas about a no-bullshit oil company fixer who has a daughter with oddly sexualized daddy issues, a son doing the dirty work to be just like his old man, and an awkwardly inserted country-rock song for every awkwardly forced joke about millennial snowflakes — shares more than a writer, director, executive producer, and creator with “Yellowstone.”

A color-washed series about tough, no-nonsense guys dealing with high-pressure hands-on stuff in rural America, “Landman” is raw, uncut Taylor Sheridan straight from the source. Set in and around the oil fields of Midland-Odessa, Texas, the series trolls the mesquite-mixed grasslands of the Permian Basin for the artificial drama so endemic there. Smuggling mishaps, oil well blowouts, appendage mangling, and plain old heartbreak provide the fuel in this regard, which flows more liberally than what’s pumped out of the ground.

After 25 years, Ali Larter still isn’t used to filming intimate scenes, but she appreciates the new era of safe on-set environments.
The Landman star recently opened up about working with the Paramount+ series’ “amazing” intimacy coordinator Mam Smith on her scenes with co-star Billy Bob Thornton, noting that she finds on-set intimacy “terribly uncomfortable.”
“It’s awful. I wouldn’t even say it’s easier when you’re 19,” Larter told Yahoo Entertainment after making her whipped cream-clad breakout performance in 1999’s Varsity Blues.
“You know, at this point, I’ve carried two babies,” she said. “So, I’m like, if you still want to see it, let’s go.”
Although she doesn’t feel that filming intimate scenes “ever gets easier,” Larter raved of working with Smith, “She’s there with us the whole time. They close the sets down.”
