Seales replaced Tamar Braxton on The Real two years after Braxton was fired from the show. She was initially excited about the opportunity because she wanted to bring depth to the show, but she says she quickly learned that she was not hired to do what was promised as a cultural critic.

Ellie Kemper and Zach Cherry have signed on to co-host the Roku Original series “The Great American Baking Show.” Kemper and Cherry will take audiences into the iconic tent to watch contestants vying to become the America’s top baker.

A U.S. adaptation of the popular British competition series “The Great British Baking Show,” the new show will feature six 60-minute episodes and will premiere in 2023. In addition to Kemper and Cherry, judges featured in the original British iteration, celebrity chef Paul Hollywood and famed restauranteur Prue Leith, will serve as judges on “The Great American Baking Show.”

Love Productions USA is handling production, which is underway in the United Kingdom. Executive producers for the series are Richard McKerrow, Al Edgington, Joe Labracio, Jeremy Finn and John Hesling.

Per our sister site Deadline, Ash will play the series-regular role of Lexi, who is the daughter of a wealthy newspaper owner and recently appointed editor. She is described as comedically out of touch with how normal people live, thanks to her upbringing in the rarefied world of boarding schools and private planes.

Thompson, the longest-running cast member in “SNL” history, was named after a lengthy search by NBC, the Academy and Emmys producers Done+Dusted and Reggie Hudlin to find an A-list name that might shake things up. It turns out, the A-lister was in their own backyard. The telecast will air live Sept. 12 on NBC, and stream on Peacock as well.

Just for Laughs has unveiled star power for its 2022 Jfl Awards, with Amy Schumer set to receive the comedy person of the year trophy.

Schumer will receive the top award in Montreal as she brings her Amy Schumer: Whore Tour to Just for Laughs for a July 30 date at the Place des Arts. And Hasan Minhaj, who started his comedy career in 2014 as a Just for Laughs New Face, will return to receive the stand-up comedian of the year award, while also hosting his latest arena show in Montreal.

Run by a consortium led by ICM and Howie Mandel, Just for Laughs has also named Taylor Tomlinson as its 2022 breakout comedy star of the year after she broke out as part of the festival’s New Faces talent discovery showcase in 2017.

The ceremony will take place at the Just For Laughs Montreal festival, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The award show, which takes place July 29 at the DoubleTree, will see Schumer receive an award for comedy person of the year. In addition, Minhaj will be named stand up comedian of the year, Tomlinson will receive the festival’s breakout comedy star award and Carmichael will accept the best comedy special award, for his recent HBO Max special “Rothaniel.”

Kevin Hart is expanding his busy comedy production empire with the merger of two existing production banners and an influx of 100 million though the sale of a minority stake to private equity firm Abry Partners.

With the deal, Hart combines Hartbeat Productions and Laugh Out Loud into a single Hartbeat banner led by CEO Thai Randolph, who helped raise the capital and had been chief operating officer of both companies. Emmy-winner Keke Palmer is asking fans to respect her personal boundaries after her privacy was violated during a recent encounter with a persistent fan. On Saturday, the actress and singer opened up about a person who approached her for a photo at a bar. In her tweet, Palmer said she politely declined, but the fan continued asking her and ultimately filmed her without her consent.

The incident left Palmer feeling both shaken and violated. "No means no, even when it doesn't pertain to sex," she tweeted. "I was at the bar the other day and this girl asked me three times for a picture and I told her three times nicely that I did not want take one with her. She still preceded to film me against my will. If I went off on her I would've been wrong, so I just nervously laughed while my privacy was invaded upon.

The show, which aired in Fox-owned stations in major markets, utilized a panel strip format similar to “The View.” The syndicated series created by “Jersey Shore” executive producer SallyAnn Salsano was known for offering perspectives from multicultural women and aiming at a young adult audience. The original hosts included actor Tamera Mowry-Housley, stylist Jeannie Mai, singer Tamar Braxton and singer an actress Loni Love.
