David's father is screenwriter Edgar Lansbury, twin brother of producer Bruce Lansbury and younger brother of Angela Lansbury. David is one of six children.

Just completed post production of the Arkansas based film "Valley Inn" directed and written by Kim Swink and Cris Spencer. His son was born to him and his wife Kristina, at their residence during the filming of the project, after a 36 hour labor.
