Actress, Producer Carol Kottenbrook was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1949. Her career in Hollywood started at the prestigious Company of Angels Theater in Los Angeles. It soon shifted from acting to production that included credits as Production Coordinator on MGM's "Wicked Stepmother," Production Supervisor on the film "Survival Quest" and Unit Production Manager on "Relentless."
It wasn't long before she began producing on her own. Her credits include Executive Producer on "The Covenant," a Sony Pictures/Screen Gems Film theatrical release that was a Number 1 hit at the box office.
She produced "8mm2" for Sony Pictures, shot on location in Budapest, Hungary. Columbia TriStar Pictures "Sniper2," "Sniper3," "True Blue" starring Tom Berenger and Screen Gems "The Forsaken" and "Vampires: The Turning" for Sony's Destination Films. She has filmed in the US and Canada and produced internationally in Asia and multiple European countries.
Carol also produced the independent award-winning film "The Mummy an' the Armadillo". The Sci-Fi Channel and Columbia TriStar premiere movie "Alien Hunter" Starring James Spader, Columbia TriStar Pictures "Outside Ozona," and Republic Pictures "Black Day Blue Night."
Prior to that she produced "Shadowhunter" starring Scott Glenn and Benjamin Bratt for Republic Films. "Exit in Red" with Mickey Rourke for Showtime. "A Climate for Killing" starring Katharine Ross for Propaganda Films and Fox, and the Paramount Pictures release "Shadowzone" starring Louise Fletcher.
Sandstorm Films, helmed by Carol Kottenbrook, served as the production company for the above films whose credits also include "The Marksman" starring Wesley Snipes in association with TriStar Pictures. The company was also instrumental in developing the box office hits "The Stepfather" and "Prom Night."
She holds a B.S. degree in Sociology and Political Science from Northern Arizona University and often works with her Writer, Director husband J. S. Cardone.
