- According to Kenneth Anger in "Hollywood Babylon," Julanne was one of the guests on William Randolph Hearst's yacht on November 15, 1924 with, among others, Marion Davies, Charlie Chaplin, and Louella Parsons. The cruise was to celebrate the birthday of Thomas Ince, the director, but it ended badly for him when he was taken "seriously ill" and later died.
- Julanne stopped off at Grosse Pointe, Michigan to visit friends while on her way to New York. She met her future husband there and that was the end of her film career.
- Lived at the Hollywood Studio Club during 1920-21.
- In his dual biography "Hedda and Louella," George Eells goes to some lengths to prove that Louella Parsons was not one of the guests on the Hearst Yacht when Thomas Ince took ill, but he does include Julanne Johnston among those who were present. There were a number of sensational (and differing) accounts of Ince's sudden illness and death, and the guest list varies.
- WAMPAS Baby Star of 1924.
