In a career spanning over fifty years of television, film and theatre,
Del has worked for NBC, CBS, ABC and most of the major studios in
Hollywood. During the early days, he was part of the NBC production
staff responsible for such programs as The Dinah Shore Show, Lux Video
Theater, Hallmark Hall of Fame, Matinee Theater, Academy and Emmy
Awards, Bell Telephone Hour and numerous series and specials. Del
became Director of Photography and Production Coordinator for The Red
Skelton Studios which produced the Red Skelton series for CBS as well
as Andy Williams, Lucille Ball, Danny Thomas, Bette Davis and Marcel
Marceau television specials. He was Production Manager on The Steve
Allen Westinghouse series and Production Manager on feature films such
as Richard Burton's Hamlet; TAMI with The Rolling Stones; TNT with
Petula Clark; Harlow with Carol Lynley and Warner Brothers' Stop the
World, I Want to Get Off.
Del was Producer/Director of A Session With the Committee feature film; Associate Producer of The Academy Awards for ABC; Associate Producer on Ann-Marget for CBS; Associate Producer of the Malibu U series for ABC; Producer of the Mr. Wizard series for NBC and CBC; Producer of The King Family series for ABC; and Producer of multiple specials for syndication, including The King Family, Ann Miller, Burl Ives, Howard Keel, Ralph Story and Milton Berle.
As Head of Production for Bill Sargent's SEE Theater Network, his Broadway productions include Knockout with Danny Aiello at the Helen Hayes Theatre; and Beatlemania at the Palace. His feature film credits include Sammy Davis, Jr. in Sammy Stops the World (Producer); Katchaturian's Ballet Gayane, produced in Riga, Latvia, in contract with the Soviet Union (Production Executive); and Bill Sargent's Richard Pryor Live in Concert (Producer).
In addition to scores of nightclub and arena productions, traveling around the world with a variety of headliner friends and acts, Del produced three series for Arthur Murray International - Let's Dance, Dance Magic and Private Dance Lessons for American Express, incorporating international ballroom dance champions, competitions and venues.
He has produced for the A&E Television Network Biography series retrospectives of Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant, Bing Crosby, Gene Autry, Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Humphrey Bogart, Steve Allen, Sammy Davis, Jr., Jayne Mansfield, Soupy Sales, Mickey Rooney, Dean Martin, Carl Reiner, Charles Schulz, Tony Bennett, Jackie Mason and Mel Torme.
Del has most recently produced the Off-Broadway stage production Sweatshop, written and directed by the late playwright Louis LaRusso II at the ATA in Manhattan; LaRusso's The Black Marble Shoeshine Stand starring Michael Paré; and December Song starring Danny Aiello.
