Beyoncé gave a concert performance for the first time since 2018 at an exclusive event in Dubai.
The “Break My Soul” vocalist appeared at the Atlantis the Royal hotel on Saturday (21 January) for an exclusive show.
Originally teased by the hotel to be part of “a weekend where your dreams become your destination”, Beyoncé’s set consisted of 19 songs spanning her career, including a surprise duet of “Brown Skin Girl” with her 11-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
However, she did not perform any material from her highly acclaimed 2022 album Renaissance.
Beyoncé’s performance at the luxury Dubai resort has been deemed controversial by some, due to the United Arab Emirates having strict homosexuality laws.
Meanwhile, the artist’s latest work has been hailed as a tribute to queer Black and brown people. The Independent has contacted a representative for Beyoncé for comment.

The announcement, in October, that Maya Jama would be the new host of Love Island was met with elation from fans across the country.
“This is Perfect,” gushed one commenter. “They couldn’t have hired someone better!!!!!!” buzzed another. Many joked that Jama is so gorgeous, the ITV2 reality show’s contestants would want to dump their partners for her.
But the new job probably didn’t come as a huge surprise to the woman whose mother has videos of her, at the age of six, declaring she would be on TV one day.
Jama, now 28, has always been determined. In interviews, she’s variously described her teenage self as “fearless” and being “tunnel-vision focused”.
But back then, life was not without its complications.
Jama was born in Bristol, to a Swedish mother and Somali father, and spent many of her weekends up until the age of 10 visiting her father in prison.

Jane wants to have a chat about Christmas, kindness, and malfunctioning skirt...
Cards on the table - I’m a Bah Humbug kind of person. Christmas comes but once a year for which I am thankful. This year it appears to be having a four month gestation period. The slush factor kicks in right about the time The X Factor raises its many hydra-ed head. And with it comes the ants of anxiety.
I can’t watch those adverts and think my life’s problems will be solved with a gastric bellyache of pudding and excess. It isn’t going to be solved with oversized pyjamas with kittens on them. Or by drinking the smorgasbord of unholy beverages that manifest as actual Christmas spirit (chocolate liqueur anyone?). Yeah, there’s the Doctor Who Christmas special but I’m usually too far gone in wine by air time...

Marvin Humes and his wife Rochelle have ''friendly'' fights over whether 'The Voice' is better than 'The X Factor.' The former Jls singer - who has presented the BBC One show for the past three years - has admitted there is gentle tension between himself and his spouse, who hosts the ITV singing show's spin-off 'The Xtra Factor', when the two programmes go head-to-head in the famous ratings war. Speaking to Bang Showbiz, he said: ''There's always friendly rivalry between me and my wife.'' However, the handsome star - who shot into the limelight after competing on 'The X Factor' in 2008...

The gym of the Hollywood United Methodist Church is dressed to the nines. Paper and foam fish hang from the ceiling. Blue and silver streamer curtains line the walls. A statue of Poseidon towers over tables strewn with punch bowls. About 100 people add a rainbow’s array of color to the gym with 1950s-era dresses and suits. But they’re not doing the hand jive or the bop – they’re busting out their ’80s moves as the band plays Whodini’s 1984 funk-rap song “Freaks Come Out At Night.” The scene is a nighttime shoot in mid-March 1985 on the set of “Back to the Future.” Harry Waters Jr., who played Marvin Berry, the leader of the band at the dance, recalled the surreal experience of jamming with contemporary songs in between takes for a gym full of extras in 30 years out-of-date clothes. “It was a party! It was entirely too much fun,...

The Voice UK might not be back until the New Year, but it's all kicking off already. The spinning chairs have been wiped down with a damp dishcloth, the two new coaches have been practising their button-pressing techniques and the singers are looking in the mirror, rehearsing that bit where they tell us how much this means to them. So what can you expect when The Voice UK returns for its fifth series?
When is The Voice UK back?
Nothing is confirmed yet, but we can make a very educated guess. For the past couple of years the show has launched at the beginning of January and based on that, it seems like we could be good to go on Saturday, January 9. It remains to be seen if we're right, but if we were going to put money on any date, it would be that one.
So it's not being axed then?...

Tom Jones has said that the BBC "can go f**k themselves" after axing him from The Voice UK.
The Welsh singer didn't have his contract renewed for next year's run and has been replaced on the coaching panel by Boy George.
8 reasons we're absolutely gutted Sir Tom Jones has left The Voice
"I said, 'I don't give a f**k'," Jones told The Sunday Times about his reaction when his son and manager Mark Woodward informed him of the BBC's decision.
"I enjoyed it, but if they don't want me any more, they can go f**k themselves."
Jones also criticises the BBC in his new memoir Over the Top and Back: The Autobiography.
"What a cold place the BBC is. Sometimes you wonder whether it's run by humans or a machine in the basement," Jones writes.
"[Former BBC managing director Bill Cotton] knew intuitively what makes entertainment work for the British public. Sadly there's...

So I definitely ticked one of my life boxes this week by spending some time with the legendary Mr Samuel L Jackson. Big Sam was in town promoting a charity that he's an ambassador for called One For The Boys - a men's cancer charity highlighting the importance of checking yourself.
On Friday, my wife Rochelle and I were invited to see Take That on tour. You know what? You have to hand it to Gary, Mark and Howard, they really know how to put on a show - or should I say a spectacle. Also, you know you have had some serious hits when a show that is over two hours long just flies by. Big shout out to Gary for inviting us down, we absolutely loved it, top man!
Sunday it was of course all about the Vodafone Big Top 40. All eyes once again were on the number one spot.

To end a week celebrating New Who's 10th birthday, here's a bumper list of Doctor Who titbits from Russell T Davies' The Writer's Tale...
We’ve touched on why The Writer’s Tale, the 2008 (expanded in 2010) compendium of correspondence between Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies and journalist Benjamin Cook, deserves a space on your bookshelf here.
In short, The Writer’s Tale is both a screenwriting masterclass and an unparalleled look behind the scenes of new Doctor Who. As well as following the production triumphs and emergencies as the show lurches “from one crisis to another”, it lets you witness story ideas being created in the wild. See pivotal Doctor Who moments tottering unsurely out of Davies’ mind like new-born giraffes and watch them transform into sleek, galloping beasts of majesty! Think of it like a classy David Attenborough doc on storytelling, with bonus David Tennant photos and chat about Tony from Skins.

The world of Doctor Who has changed greatly in the space of just 10 years. The cast and crew have almost completely been replaced since 2005, including a number of new actors to play the errant Time Lord and his companions.
But what has happened to the class of '05? Where are Rose and Mickey now? What is the writer of 'Dalek' up to? And where can you see more work from the director of 'Rose'?
Here it is then, your guide to the main players of Doctor Who series one.
The Cast
After his three-month on-screen stint as the Doctor, Christopher Eccleston's career continued in much the same vein, taking in theatre, interesting television roles and the odd blockbuster.
Post-2005, the Northern actor went Stateside to take on the role of invisible man Claude in the Us series Heroes. From there, he popped up in a very amusing Doctor Who-esque cameo as Dr.
