Sir Percy Newbiggin visits the fleet to find ways to economize Naval expenditures. Daughter Celia tags along, and organizes a morale-boosting show utilizing ship-board talent. Her fiancé shows up, and romantic complications ensue.

An eccentric heir must marry a widow in order to collect the millions left to him in his aunt's will, so a suicidal neighbor agrees to marry the man's young fiancée before offing himself.

Peyton Wells (Ben Lyon) rescues Judy Jones (Joan Marsh) from a very dull young man, at a sedate party given for her by her multi-millionaire grandfather Silas P. Jones (Purnell Pratt.) Judy refuses to accompany Peyton on a slumming trip to a cheap dance hall, and Peyton dances with several of the dowagers and tells them that Silas is practically dying of scarlet fever. The guests hastily depart and Joan joins Peyton at the Dreamland Dance Hall. She is mistaken by Jimmy Cassidy (Edward J. Nugent) as one of the hostesses and decides to dance with him as a lark. One thing follows another and Judy gets disinherited and takes a job at the dance hall through Jimmy and his friend Mabel(Isabel Jewell.) Jimmy confides to Judy his ambition to become a dance instructor over the radio and Judy decides to help him but can't get the needed financial backing. She gets Peyton to front the money, promising him she will reconsider his offer of marriage if Jimmy's plan fails. The dance school of the air proves to be a flop because of Silas Jones, who threatens to withdraw his large advertising account unless the dance school is taken off.

Satire on radio, built around the supposed feud between bandleader Ben Bernie and journalist Walter Winchell.

Bandleader (Romero) and manager (Ameche) discover skater (Henie) in Norway. They become rivals after she returns with them to America.

Through the terms of a will in which he inherits a lot of money if he will run a dude ranch for six months and get away from the city, Red figures out a plan to build a night-club dude ranch on Broadway, so he will not have to abandon his beloved Broadway night-life. He hires the Condos Brothers (Nick, Frank and Harry) to do their dance routines, and the trick-roping act of Maidie & Ray. Red supplies his own brand of emceeing the acts, while the music is supplied by Hank Lawson and His Texans.

Russ Raymond, America's number one crooner, disappears and joins the Navy under the name Tommy Halstead. Dorothy Roberts, a magazine journalist, is intent on finding out what happened to Russ and she tries everything she can to get a picture of him to prove he's Russ Raymond. Tommy's friends, Pomeroy Watson and Smokey Adams,help him while Pomeroy writes love letters to Patty Andrews. But because Smokey makes Pomeroy lie about himself in the letters, and when Patty comes to the Navy base, she's furious at Pomeroy. When Pomeroy, Smokey, Tommy and the Andrews sisters set sail for Hawaii, Pomeroy discovers there's a tomato in the potato locker, and she's been snapping shots of Tommy the whole trip. Whether Pomeroy's proving that 7 x 13 = 28 - three different ways, having Smokey help him play ship captain for Patty, or falling out of his hammock, it's an Abbott and Costello classic.

Sisters Kay and Barbara arrive in Miami from Texas looking for rich husbands.

Horse breeders Adams and Brock are vying for the Army contract. After Adams is killed trying to ride his horse Trigger, Roy saves him from being shot. He trains him and then plans to ride him in the race to win the contract.

Musical comedy star Jimmy Leighter wants to get away from show biz and his leading lady Winnie Clark, so he joins the Army. There he gets the order to put on a show. Winnie Clark appears in a camp show, hears about his task and offers him her help. He thinks she's doing it for her publicity only, so he doesn't want to know anything about it, till he finds out that she has no such intentions.

A U.S.O. singer poses as a Broadway star in order to attract a handsome war hero.

Child film star Jane Powell, fed up with her every move being stage managed by her stage mother, runs away and joins the U.S. Crop Corps, a small army of young folks staying at youth hostels and picking crops while adult farmworkers are at war. Totally clueless about the real world, befuddled Jane is embroiled in teen-romance complications while Mother frantically searches. Will her stardom help or hinder her new friends? W.C. Fields does a short act with Bergen and McCarthy.

The stuffy manager of lovely opera singer Vicki Cassel and her uncle, a classical conductor, is determined to close down the noisy nightclub that's next door to the Cassels' home. The club's owners--Steve, a handsome ladies man, Jeff, his clownish sidekick--hatch a plan to keep the club open. Steve arranges to meet--and woo--Vicki and then invite her and her uncle to the club. When Vicki's snobbish aunt and the manager discover that Vicki now favors popular music to the classics, they arrange to get the club closed. But that doesn't keep Steve and Jeff down. Instead they decide to put on a Broadway show if they can get a backer. They find their "angel" in Vicki's uncle who agrees to finance the show only if Vicki is the leading lady. But once again, Vicki's aunt and manager may be the spoiler in everyone's plans.

Jack Eigen is the disc jockey and Buddy Rich , with some incredible mugging, leads his orchestra, playing "Kicks With Sticks." Steve Condos tap dances, sometimes with Rich, to "Great Head", and band singer Betty Bonner and Rich sing "A Man Can Be a Wonderful Thing."

Delilah Lee is the star of husband Jeff Ames' Broadway show when she starts to suspect he has been exchanging more than contracts with the show's vampish backer. Alimony and amnesia become the order of the day.

After her Hollywood career fails, an actress returns to Broadway and tries for a comeback in a stage show directed by her former lover.

Just released from prison, Max Washington must decide which of his previous professions to return to: burglary or tap-dancing.
