Very recently, I discovered that the comic "Gaypardo" is going to be wrapping up soon, so I decided to make some long overdue fanart as a farewell gift to the comics' two creators, Kattanaita and zodd95.
For the longest time, I've seen the characters of Arace (the cheetah) and Alex (the tiger) as having a bit of a "Ross and Rachel" type of romance, and seeing as how these two never kissed in the comic, I decided to, for lack of a better term, "fix" that ( ) by having them reenact my favorite kiss scene between Ross and Rachel: https://youtu.be/YVRmfWT84ME?t=143

you're welcome. something about tigers and cheetahs as a couple or something just pushes the right buttons for cute!
They look like they truly love one another. This is a really sweet picture. It is very touching, as well as very emotional to me. Alex is a stand-in for a guy that encouraged me to challenge my views of the world, but once he got what he wanted from me, he moved on to his next experiment, leaving me behind with so many feelings and nothing to do with them.
With Gaypardo I was going to change that outcome so that Aracê's constant refusals to his advances would make Alex genuinely interested in the cheetah. Aracê's coldness and inability to accept that the tiger had a true change of heart would eventually lead to Alex's heart being broken in the process, and thus what could've been a beautiful, loving relationship would never have the chance to blossom. It would be a sort of reversal of the actual events, but with a similar outcome.
I never got to decide if they would ultimately get together or not, but with my penchant for sad conclusions, there were good chances they would not end up together, with the series ending on an introspective note to take chances when they present themselves. My life was such a great collection of sadnesses; it's hard to believe I could ever deserve anything but, so that ends up being reflected on my characters as well.
However, it is beautiful to think that Alex and Aracê could be happy like this, so in love with each other. I wish I could've experienced that myself, but I'm glad I can enjoy such a feeling vicariously through this beautiful fan art regardless.
Thank you. You are very kind. ❤️

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Kattanaita! *hug*
Heehee, I had a good source to model these two kitties off of. But I'm glad it still packs a punch, though I didn't mean to dredge up such an unpleasant memory for you. I mean, what that fella did to you... wow. That was all kinds of messed up. Please believe me when I say you didn't deserve to be treated like that. I may not know you personally, but I still say you didn't deserve that. I don't think anybody deserves that.
But what's kind of eerie is that several years ago, I contemplated a sitcom-esque storyline, with one of the male characters having a background that was surprisingly similar to yours'. ^^ Quite the coincidence.
Your plans for Arace and Alex, while definitely sad and tragic, also sounds quite intriguing! Mostly because of several elements:
-Alex had already mentioned in the comic that he learned he can only look out for himself, suggesting his own sad background, making the idea of his heart changing only to be broken by Arace all the more tragic. Would this destroy any sense of hope and/or happiness Alex has, and lead him down an even darker path than before?
-Would Arace ever realize that Alex had really, truly fallen for him, and would he be devastated at hurting the tiger and potentially losing out on something great? Or would he never find out, and if so, would he ever get with anybody else?
I still like the idea of Arace and Alex getting happy(ish) endings. If not with each other, then at least with someone else - or better still, with themselves. I've heard it's best to learn to love yourself first before learning to love another. Arace certainly could do with some self-love. *hug*
I'm really sorry you had to experience such a sad life. And it's both understandable and natural for you to reflect that in your characters. Though I hope someday that you gain the ability to believe that you do deserve to be happy and loved, and that you actually do become happy and loved. *hug*
But I am glad that you at least enjoyed my fanart. Even if things don't end up working out for Arace and Alex, they'll always have this moment.
You're welcome, it was my pleasure. And thank you for creating your series. It's been quite an adventure!

Hey there, bud! I appreciate the thoughtful reply.
I do agree, no one deserves to be treated like an object and tossed away. There are some shitty people out there, but I guess that just makes finding like-minded people all the more precious.
If anything, this kind of situation is great to explore character development. As you expertly pointed out, Alex himself had a very traumatic experience in which he developed strong feelings for someone who was only interested in him for the sex, and once a more interesting partner came along, he was promptly replaced. Thus the cycle repeats, and one raises a wall in order to protect oneself emotionally from such devastating events.
Aracê will realize that he messed up with the tiger, and he will feel guilty for not only breaking his heart, but missing an opportunity of being with someone who honestly loves him. Several seasons would be spent on Aracê's search for a compatible partner (after coming to terms with his sexuality, a looong time in the future), but with that constant regret always lingering in his mind and never allowing him to move on.
In my original drafts, when he does admit to himself that he loves Alex and decides to ask for forgiveness, he then finds out Alex is dating again. It is one of those classic movie clichés - Alex is unhappy in his currently relationship, but it was better than staying alone - but that also rings true personally.
Thank you again, and all the best. ❤️

Yes, I agree. It does make the times when you meet actual kind people all the more special... though it's sad that it has to be special, rather than the norm. Oh well.
That's all rather fascinating (if tragic) to think about, although there are other things to consider: will any of their friends be able to help them break the cycle before it's too late? Now of course, initially, Alex and Arace don't seem to have any friends... except they kinda do:
Thanks to their current living situations, they each are more or less forced to live with people who *might* be good influences on them:
Alex has Robert, as well as the other former tenants of Kenneth's building, although Robert is the most likely candidate to be the one to help Alex sort things out. Especially since Robert is the type who strives to tear his way out of the hole he's currently in.
Arace has Rudy, who has a more father-son relationship with the cheetah - which is convenient for Arace, since the issue of whether he's gay or not won't have to come up. Arace won't ever have to worry about Rudy making a pass at him, and he could finally get the father-figure he wanted, as well as a friend.
So, maybe I'm being too idealistic, but it still seems possible that, with the right people helping them out, Arace and Alex could sort things out. Even if they don't end up together, at least they're able to move on towards happier lives.
As for the original draft, I honestly hope that never ends up happening! XD Although that is sad that people choose to be in unhappy relationships as opposed to being alone. I've always been kind of a loner, so I can't relate to that way of thinking. I'd rather be "happy and single" than "miserable and married."
You're very welcome, and all the best to you, too! x3

A possible future where Aracê gets the Good End. Does he deserve it? You decide!
Well, so far he hasn't done anything that says he *doesn't* deserve it.
Besides, I think the real question here is, does Arace's need for a good ending outweigh whether he deserves it or not.

At first glance, I thought this was Cody kissing a cheetah guy. Haha!
I guess this is one way to 'fix' couple/comic. XD
I haven't been keeping up with the comic as I should, so I'm don't know much about these two. But they do seem like a cute couple. I like how you draw kissing moments. they always look so romantic. But there still is a mistake... they are still wearing their shirts. XD
This is indeed a nice tribute to a comic since Roger was a featured a few times too.

Thank you very muuuuuuuch! :D
Lol, nope! Not Cody, though I don't blame you for thinking that. x3
Hopefully one of these days you'll be able to give the comic a read (just so you know, it's styled more like a newspaper comic, so it's a little different from the other comics you'd see around here), and hopefully you'll enjoy it. Also fair warning: quite a few characters are a little on the jerkish side... the main character, Arace the cheetah, is quite bratty... but I think he's still funny, and he's not too bratty. Plus, we end up learning quite a bit about him that explains why he is the way he is.
But I'm glad you like this pic! :D This is not at all how the relationship between Arace and Alex is in the comic, but I still like the idea of those two hooking up. XD But thank you again, I'm really happy you think that! *hug* Lol, maybe someday I'll draw them shirtless.
And maybe I can draw Roger interacting with them too, someday! :D

Either one, this is sexy. XD
Right. When I find the time I'll sit down and read it.
Yeah, some couples don't actually get shipped together. But that's why we have fan art.
Cool! I love to see that too.

Thank yooou! :D
Awesome. Hope you enjoy it! Take warning, though: it can get really sad in some parts, especially with its current storyline (which is a flashback to the main character's tragic childhood).
Right! ;D
Awesome. We shall see! x3
