The play was devised by Richard Tulloch and Toe Truck Theatre in Sydney, 1981, using teachers' own stories of bizarre, frustrating, sometimes touching, and often hilarious incidents. First performed at St. Peter Chanel School, Regent's Park, New South Wales on 25 February 1981.
