Description |
"Seulle" was inspired by a majestic tapestry hung in the oldest standing hospital in France, Hotel-Dieu De Beaune in Burgundy. The hospital was built by Nicolas Rolin, Chancellor of Burngundy and his wife Guigine de Salins in 1443 for the poor and was only closed and transformed into a museum in 1982. Embroidered with the word "seulle" (only) many times, the tapestry is a tribute to the undying and exclusive love Niccoals Rolin had for his wife. |
