Kenneth L. Wallach

Kenneth L. Wallach is the Executive Chairman and former CEO of Central National Gottesman Inc, a global distributor of pulp, paper, packaging, wood products and steel. He and his wife Susan have been involved in philanthropic activities at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University since its founding in 1999, as well as with various organizations in the New York City community. He serves as a Trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the American Museum of Natural History; as a Director of the National Book Foundation (sponsor of the National Book Award) and chair of its investment committee; as a Director and member of the Executive Committee of the 92nd St. Y, a nonprofit cultural and community center; and as a Director and member of the Executive Committee of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Harvard Committee on University Resources. Wallach received the A.B. degree (1968) from Harvard University and the J.D. (1972) from Harvard Law School. He was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2007 (Class V:2). He has served as member of the Academy Trust since 2009. He is also Co-Chair of the Academy’s New York Program Committee. He was previously a member of the Commission on Language Learning and the Development and Communications Committee.
