Hush (October 1)

Hush is a slasher horror thriller film directed by Mike Flanagan who also co-wrote the film with Kate Siegel. The 2016 film follows the story of a dead writer living in a remote house in the woods but when a masked killer appears in the window she must fight for her survival. Hush stars Kate Siegel in the lead role with John Gallagher Jr., Samantha Sloyan, Michael Trucco, and Emma Graves starring in supporting roles.

Friday the 13th Film Series (October 1)

The first seven films in the Friday the 13th franchise will be available on Shudder from October 1. Friday the 13th is a horror slasher film directed by Sean S. Cunningham from a screenplay by Victor Miller, the 1980 film follows a group of young camp counselors being hunted by a ruthless killer at Crystal Lake, which has a dark history.

It Follows (October 1)

It Follows is a horror thriller film written and directed by David Robert Mitchell. The 2014 film film follows the story of Jay, a carefree teenager who gets a curse after having sex with her boyfriend and soon she finds herself being hunted by a supernatural entity. It Follows stars Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist, Olivia Luccardi, Lili Sepe, Daniel Zovatto, and Jake Weary.

V/H/S/Beyond (October 4)

V/H/S/Beyond is a found footage sci-fi horror anthology film directed by Jordan Downey, Christian Long, Justin Long, Justin Martinez, Virat Pal, Kate Siegel, and Jay Cheel. The 2024 film is the seventh film in the V/H/S franchise and it consists of six horrifying tapes with stories filled with horror and suspense. V/H/S/Beyond stars Dane DiLiegro and Alanah Pearce.

Demons (October 7)

Demons is an Italian supernatural horror film directed by Lamberto Bava who also co-wrote the film with Dario Argento, Dardano Sacchetti, and Franco Ferrini. The 1985 film follows the story of two young women who are given free tickets to a mysterious film screening as well as other people but they soon find themselves trapped in a film theater with a horde of zombies. Demons stars Urbano Barberini, Natasha Hovey, Karl Zinny, Paola Cozzo, Nicoletta Elmi, and Fiore Argento.

Tenebrae (October 7)

Tenebrae is an Italian giallo-horror film written and directed by Dario Argento. The 1982 film follows the story of Peter Neal, a novelist on a promotional tour in Rome where he is pulled into a murder investigation when a psychopath inspired by Peter’s writings begins killing people. While the police investigate the murder, Peter begins his own investigation with the help of his beautiful assistant and a young local. Tenebrae stars Anthony Franciosa, Daria Nicolodi, Christian Borromeo, and John Saxon.

Phenomena (October 7)

Phenomena is an Italian giallo-horror film directed by Dario Argento who also co-wrote the film with Franco Ferrini. The 1985 film follows the story of an American girl in a Swiss boarding school who discovers that she has psychic powers and uses them to fight against a serial killer who is targeting young girls. Phenomena stars Jennifer Connelly in the lead roles with Daria Nicolodi, Dalila Di Lazzaro, Patrick Bauchau, and Donald Pleasence starring in supporting roles.

Daddy’s Head (October 11)

Daddy’s Head is a horror thriller film written and directed by Benjamin Barfoot. The 2024 film follows the story of a young boy and his stepmother who begin to fear for their lives after a strange creature resembling his recently deceased father visits them. Daddy’s Head stars Julia Brown, Mary Woodvine, Kaisa Hammarlund, Charles Aitken, Nathaniel Martello-White, and Nila Aalia.

Audition (October 15)

Audition is a horror thriller film directed by Takashi Miike from a screenplay by Daisuke Tengan. Based on the 1997 novel of the same name by author Ryu Murakami, the 1999 film follows the story of Aoyama, a widower who wants to start dating again and with the help of his film producer friend, he fakes a film audition to choose a gorgeous woman to date. He finds a woman named Asami, who he falls in love with but soon begins to suspect that Asami is not what he first thought. Audition stars Ryo Ishibashi, Eihi Shiina, Tetsu Sawaki, Jun Kunimura, and Yuuto Arima.

MadS (October 18)

MadS is a horror thriller film directed by David Moreau. The 2024 film follows the story of Romain, a teenager who makes a stop at his dealer’s place after graduating to try out a new drug after which he heads to a party but sees an injured woman on the side of the road and from then on the night takes a turn for the worse. MadS stars Lewkowski Yovel, Lucille Guillaume, Xiomara Melissa Ahumada Quito, Laurie Pavy, and Milton Riche.

Azrael (October 25)

Azrael is a post-apocalyptic action horror film directed by E.L. Katz from a screenplay by Simon Barrett. The 2024 film is set years after the apocalypse and it follows Azrael, a young woman who is being hunted by a devout cult of mute zealots after she escaped her own imprisonment. Azrael stars Samara Weaving in the lead role with Vic Carmen Sonne and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett starring in supporting roles.

Satan’s Little Helper (October 28)

Satan’s Little Helper is a dark comedy slasher film written and directed by Jeff Lieberman. The 2004 film is set on Halloween day and it follows the story of Douglas Whooly who is expecting a fun night but when he has a fight with his family he goes outside and befriends a man in a devil costume who helps Douglas decorate his lawn with fake dead bodies, but what Douglas doesn’t know is that the bodies and the murders about to happen are real. Satan’s Little Helper stars Alexander Brickel, Joshua Annex, Katheryn Winnick, Anthony Ardolino, JoAnna Beckson, and Amanda Plummer.

The Exorcism (October 30)

The Exorcism is a supernatural horror film directed by Joshua John Miller who also co-wrote the film with M.A. Fortin. The 2024 film revolves around a troubled actor who begins to act strange while shooting a horror film, which leads his daughter to believe that he might be slipping back into his old addictions but what she doesn’t know is that there is something much more sinister at play. The Exorcism stars Russell Crowe, Ryan Simpkins, Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg, Adrian Pasdar, and David Hyde Pierce.
