- Kristin Carey (Kris Carey, Kristin Carey Schnauz) was born in Pasadena and raised in Northern California. She began acting in San Francisco when she was fifteen in various commercials and movies, most notably Milk Cartons: The Way Back Home, an after school special alongside Erin Gray and Taran Noah Smith.
Carey graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in communications and went on to co-own Tragmagic LLC., a racing go kart manufacturing business, started by Fausto Vitello, founder of Thrasher Magazine.
In 2009, Carey sold her company to refocus on writing and acting. She returned to her roots in Los Angeles, and found work writing script coverage for producer Laurence Mark before jumping to post-production at Law & Order: SVU. From there, Carey worked her way from post PA to Writer's Assistant on Chicago Fire for three seasons. During this time, Carey was also accepted to the prestigious Groundlings school, where she continued to develop her comedy skills.
In 2013, Carey met writer/director Thomas Schnauz. They married in 2015, and have two sons.

- In 2006, Carey purchased Trackmagic, a racing go-kart company, from Thrasher Magazine partner Eric Swenson after founder Fausto Vitello died suddenly of a heart attack. Together with her business partners, she operated, manufactured and sold racing karts until 2009.
