- TriviaLaura Frances Martin grew up on the North Devon coast, gaining a BTEC in Art & Design at North Devon College before graduating with a 1st Class BA (Hons) Degree in Theatre from Dartington College of Arts. A visual artist, writer and performer, she has lived and worked in Cornwall since 1996. She is widely known for her giant sculptural lantern commissions and accompanying characters, which she has created for a range of companies and festivals over the past fifteen years - including Kneehigh Theatre, Truro City of Lights, BikeLights, Illuminate, Sea Salts & Sail, Trebah Garden of Light, and ARTiculate's Island Light Festivals on Scilly.
Martin's film projects include the female lead in both acclaimed 2008 Cornish feature, 'Tink's Kitchen', and Philip Reeve's 2023 micro-budget feature, 'Gwenevere', along with a variety of roles in TV, short films and radio.
