Jason "J." Fisher's filmmaking career began in the year 2000 with the release of his 36 minute independent film Conversation For A Dollar.
The film played dozens of festivals, universities, and curated screenings across the country, including at The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and was received enthusiastically by both audiences and critics. The Boston Globe called it "Darkly Funny." The Washington Post called it "Funny and surprisingly thought provoking."
The Atlanta Journal Constitution favorably compared J.'s work to Kevin Smith. Entertainment Today unfavorably compared it to Eminem.
Since then J. has been working in film and television as a writer, director, producer, and editor, on everything from scripted feature films and documentaries, to commercials, music videos, development projects, and unscripted series. Some of his favorite projects include collaborating with Lady Gaga on an independent music video, working with Oscar-Winner Fisher Stevens editing the development pilot for the Emmy-winning series Tiger King, directing dozens of episodes of true crime series like Scorned, The Secret Lives of Stepford Wives, and Homicide Hunter with Joe Kenda, working as an editor for the legendary Hollywood director Joel Schumacher, cutting the TV ONE scripted movie of the week, Visions starring Tatyana Ali, and co-editing the NHL/Amazon documentary Saving Sakic by director Jay Nelson, featuring Harrison Ford.
