Gustavo Sanchez-Perez

Gustavo "Gus" Sanchez Perez is a veteran of the VFX industry with over 25 years of experience who has worn many hats, from animator in TV series, modeler and tool programmer in video games, visual effects artist in movies, and even software Product Manager.
Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, he began his career as a 3D generalist with a brief stint at a local TV station in the island before moving to the UK in the early 2000s. There he would work for Sony Playstation, Double Negative, Moving Picture Company or Cinesite in films such as "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" or "Xmen The Last Stand" among other projects.
In 2006 he returned to Spain to work on projects such as Ilion's Planet51 or Don Quixote at Bren Animation, and later spent a few years on the software development side with the famous RealFlow fluid program at Next Limit Technologies.
Since 2016 he has been based in Toronto, Canada. There he has worked for companies such as MRX, MARZ and currently holds the position of FX Supervisor at RodeoFX.
Among the many projects in which he has participated in these companies are the Oscar-winning "The Shape of Water", and countless productions for both film and television, to name a few: "Vikings: Valhalla", "Wednesday", "Moon Knight", "The Umbrella Academy", "Raised by Wolves". His latest projects include "Masters of the Air" for AppleTV and "Avatar, The Last Airbender" recently released on Netflix.
