This article contains spoilers for season 3 of "The Boys."
Eric Kripke's Prime Video series "The Boys" has always been brutal, but season 3 was especially violent, killing off major characters or wounding them permanently. That's saying something when you take into account the fact that many of the characters are superhuman and incredibly tough to kill, but season 3 saw a whole lot of them kick the bucket.
Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), in particular, went through hell in the finale, losing an eye in the battle with Homelander (Antony Starr) and losing her powers in the battle with Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). It looked like she died, but she miraculously survived, albeit as a normal, non-superpowered human with some pretty nasty injuries. This was a change from the character's fate in the comics, but it made a lot of sense given the changes to the character in general and her impressive arc over the three seasons.

After the successes of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" flicks, "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery," and "Knock at the Cabin," Dave Bautista has pretty much solidified himself as the greatest wrestler-turned-actor of the era. Like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and John Cena before him, Bautista was originally pigeonholed in tough guy roles because of his size before producers realized, "Hey, this guy is legitimately hilarious." Bautista has been showing off a wide range of acting talent for years now, including holding his own in the 'charismatic action star meets cute kid' formula on display in "My Spy."
The action comedy was released in 2020 to less-than-stellar reviews, but according to Variety, "My Spy" was the third most-watched film on SVOD the year of release. With Bautista's star being pushed to the stratosphere, it's no surprise Prime Video was interested in a sequel. What is a surprise, however, is how the...

Back in 2020, Dave Bautista followed in the big dude/cute kid film footsteps of Arnie, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson with My Spy, which became one of the first films to ditch its planned release for streaming via Amazon as the pandemic began to impact cinemas. It ended up successful, and has now spawned a follow-up with Anna Faris, Craig Robinson and Flula Borg among the newcomers for My Spy: The Eternal City.
My Spy, in case it somehow passed you by, saw Bautista as JJ, a hulking-yet-sensitive CIA agent banished to a relatively straightforward undercover gig after a previous mission ends badly.
Yet he and tech specialist Bobbi (Kristen Schaal) aren't prepared for one of their surveillance targets — savvy nine-year-old Sophie (Chloe Coleman) — to catch on to their presence and blackmail JJ into teaching her spy craft, lest she blows their cover. Along the way, JJ bonds with Sophie and her mother,...

Dave Bautista is getting back into the spy business, with a sequel to the 2020 action-comedy My Spy set at Amazon.

Billy Barratt, Taeho K, Nicola Correia-Damude, Noah Dalton Danby and Devere Rogers are also joining this time around. Returning stars include Bautista as CIA operative JJ, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal and Ken Jeong.

From the 2010 edition of the Blacklist to Zac Efron’s schedule, Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari’s screenplay for Die in a Gunfight seemed to be getting the fast-track into theaters before seven years of development saw a revolving door of actors and directors changing. It would take almost a decade before cameras started rolling and the person sitting prettiest after the whole ordeal became Collin Schiffli. After two indie films written by frequent collaborator David Dastmalchian, he’s finally got his hands in the Hollywood pie with Lionsgate and a modestly star-studded cast of B-listers to help make his stylistic flourishes look good. And there are a lot of them. Whether or not they work to make this riff on “Romeo and Juliet” a success is beside the point.

Coroner is no stranger to repressed trauma, but Coroner Season 2 Episode 4 brought things to a whole new level.
Repression has been at the center of the show since we first saw that black dog on Coroner Season 1 Episode 1. Usually, it's just Jenny repressing things. In recent episodes, we've seen a bit from Liam too. No wonder those two found each other.
Repressed memories are often associated with traumatic events that were deeply distressing or disturbing. Jenny repressed killing her sister because she didn't want to deal with how it made her feel.
Kelly: I have a waitressing gig but it's only two nights a week. I would work every night if it meant not being alone with myself.
Jenny: Grief is a monster.
Kelly: And I run from monsters.
Permalink: And I run from monsters. Added: October 26, 2020
Some emotions, particularly those associated with trauma, can just be too overwhelming to cope with.

(Warnings: This post contains spoilers for the Season 2 finale of “The Boys.”)
Maeve (Dominique McElligott) and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) might have been standing next to each other in pride solidarity in “The Boys” Season 2 finale, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to be friends any time soon. Yes, even though Maeve got Starlight back into the Seven by blackmailing Homelander — which she also did for Butcher (Karl Urban), Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), Elena (Nicola Correia-Damude) and herself — Elligott says that is a “tentative alliance for sure” heading into Season 3.
“I think with Maeve, she’s dealing with her own stuff,” the Amazon Prime Video series’ star told TheWrap. “When she sees Starlight, in Season 1 especially, Starlight was a little like a damsel in distress and Maeve was there saying, ‘Come on, pull yourself together.’ And it’s a little one-sided in that Maeve is always trying to help Starlight in some way.

"Just to be clear - this is a one time arrangement. Never again." Stx Entertainment has debuted the first official trailer for an action comedy movie titled My Spy, yet another campy Hollywood comedy about a spy who befriends a kid. From director Peter Segal, the story follows a CIA operative who finds himself at the mercy of a precocious nine-year-old girl. The charming, lovable buff badass Dave Bautista stars, along with Chloe Coleman (from "Big Little Lies") as Sophie, plus Ken Jeong, Kristen Schaal, Nicola Correia-Damude, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Sima Fisher, Laura Cilevitz, and Ali Hassan. This looks like one of those super cheesy, but kinda fun comedies involving an adult teaming up with a kid to save his butt, while saving her from bullies. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Peter Segal's My Spy, direct from Stx's YouTube: My Spy follows Jj, a hardened CIA operative...

Although superhero and Ya dramas are The CW's bread and butter, during the summer months, the littlest network mostly features unscripted series. This time around though, they've introduced two new scripted series, The Outpost and the Burden of Truth TV show, which premiered during the same week. While the former fits in with CW's usually fantasy drama fare, Burden of Truth, which originated on Canada's CBC, is a legal drama. It's been renewed in Canada but, can it draw a large enough audience to be invited back to the States for a second season? Will Burden of Truth be cancelled or renewed for season two on The CW?
