There’s an old rule in TV that when a show becomes a hit, you’re going to see copycats. So when Lost exploded onto TV screens as a monster success in 2004, it’s no shock that networks were quick to copy it. Sadly, too many of these would-be clones couldn’t come close to Lost’s success, failing to make their mythology or storytelling compelling enough for viewers and the majority didn’t last one season.
Yet there are a number of shows that can appeal to Lost fans. Most are pretty blatant in the setup of folks traveling and somehow trapped in a strange place. Others utilize some great mythology and are backed by a terrific cast to work well. With Lost on Netflix again, it’s time to enjoy the best of shows inspired by it, and these 15 shows definitely appeal to anyone who loves Lost’s unique storytelling style.

Director Robert Machoian follows up his well-received drama The Killing of Two Lovers with another low-budget but intriguing and original drama. In The Integrity of Joseph Chambers a man goes off hunting in the woods alone to seemingly prove something to his family, and himself, that he can ‘survive’ in the woods and be the ‘man’ of the house. It will come as no surprise that his irresponsibility leads him to a terrible situation.
First off, the movie looks fantastic. The cinematography is up there with the very best. I loved every shot of the woodland and the man walking around the woodland. I’m sure there’ll be some people who watch certain scenes and think that ‘nothing happens’. It’s just a guy walking through the woods,...

For our recent webchat he adds, “it was immediately apparent to us that by using the prism of the past, we could talk about things of contemporary relevance,” he explains. “What we also can see from the show is, on the one hand, things have changed greatly for African Americans. We’ve had an African American president. But on the other hand, things haven’t changed much at all, and so that’s what the show’s trying to articulate.” We talked with Brancato as part of Gold Derby’s special “Meet...

Jason Momoa’s Baba Voss has fought his last battle after Apple TV+ revealed that season three of See would be its last.
The post-apocalyptic drama series will return for its third and final on August 26 and will be rolled out weekly.
See is set in a brutal and primitive future, hundreds of years after humankind has lost the ability to see. In season three, almost a year has passed since Baba Voss (Momoa) defeated his nemesis brother Edo, played by Dave Bautista, and bid farewell to his family to live remotely in the forest. But when a Trivantian scientist develops a new and devastating form of sighted weaponry that threatens the future of humanity, Baba returns to Paya in order to protect his tribe once more.

If the apocalypse comes, we’re all screwed. Fancying himself a survivor with a desire to provide for his family should “things go south,” Joe (Clayne Crawford) gets up before the crack of dawn, leaving wife Tess (Jordana Brewster), swapping his BMW for neighbor Doug’s (Carl Kenedy) truck, and heading into a private wooded area. His adventures (and boredom) have their charms. He imagines he’s a baseball pitcher stepping up to the plate, he struggles to reach an overlook with all his gear on, and fantasizes about bagging a buck to take home, stick in the freezer, and feed his family in the event we’re blasted back to the Stone Age.

In “The Integrity of Joseph Chambers,” Clayne Crawford plays a middle-class insurance salesman who wakes up, shaves his mustache into something from the Chuck Norris/Burt Reynolds catalog of masculinity, kisses his wife Tess (Jordana Brewster) goodbye and sets out for an early morning hunting expedition. Say what you will about the Second Amendment, but Joseph Chambers has no business bearing arms, and this trip seems like a recipe for trouble.
Writer-director Robert Machoian’s follow-up to “The Killing of Two Lovers” unspools like a stripped-down, one-man “Deliverance”: No group of buddies on a weekend canoe trip. No dueling banjos. No hillbilly-inflicted sexual humiliation. Just a guy with a rifle in the woods, determined to prove something to the world about his capacity for self-reliance — a capacity that is very much in question with nearly every decision he makes. Just look at the way Joseph holds a rifle, carelessly...

Exclusive: Visit Films has boarded writer-director Robert Machoian’s The Integrity Of Joseph Chambers and will be shopping the project to buyers in Cannes next week.
The film is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June but buyers on the Croisette will be given a “sneak peek” of the title, according to Visit Films.
The project is a tense and brooding drama starring Clayne Crawford as an insurance salesman and family man Joseph Chambers. Wanting to acquire the skills to be able to take care of his family in case of an apocalypse, Joseph decides to go deer hunting by himself for the first time ever, despite his wife’s objections. Setting out into the mountains with a borrowed rifle, he roams the woods aimlessly in search for deer. His boredom is short-lived, however, when in the blink of an eye he goes through a traumatic experience.

Since short film Charlie and the Rabbit (2010), Robert Machoian (and frequent creative partner Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck) has been a mainstay with the annual pilgrimage in Park City. Breaking out big with his solo effort just two years back (the Neon released The Killing of Two Lovers), there’ll be a lot of hype surrounding this next project. Production on The Integrity of Joseph Chambers took place in December of 2020 in Alabama, and sees Machoian reteam with Clayne Crawford. He also landed the likes of Jordana Brewster, Michael Raymond-James and Jeffrey Dean Morgan to fill up a film that might make animals lovers cringe, but will likely devastate on some whole other level.…...

Originally known as “The Volunteers” — the name that still appears prominently on the movie’s website — “American Insurrection” now bears a title that could spark expectations for a modern-day version of the topical exploitation fare that was a mainstay during the 1960s for American-International Pictures. But William Sullivan’s small-budget indie has much loftier aspirations than such teen-pandering product once did. For better or worse, just about the only plot element here that feels like a bad hangover from the ’60s is the fate of a character too ashamed to acknowledge his sexual identity.
Working from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jarret Kerr, one of the lead players, Sullivan takes a chamber drama approach to depicting life in an America largely controlled by white supremacists whose goals and tactics might seem extreme even to Tucker Carlson (if not his loyal viewership). Sweet Girl finds Jason Momoa and all of his mammoth screen presence in John Q mode. Directed by his longtime collaborator Brian Andrew Mendoza, the Aquaman star plays Ray Cooper, a tried-and-true family man forced into the unthinkable. Admittedly, it is hard not to smirk at the need to include intense scenes of fight training early on to justify how an “everyman” who looks like Jason Momoa is able to fight like Jason Momoa.
Ray is tragically forced to watch his wife (Adria Arjona) die after pharmaceutical company BioPrime takes the generic version of her cure off the market to turn a larger profit. After he calls into a local news show and publicly threatens to kill the company’s CEO, a journalist emerges to tell Ray he has proof of illegal activity. This all moves at quite the quick pace, which is appreciated.

"You knew going after powerful people was a dangerous business." Netflix has dropped the official trailer for an action thriller titled Sweet Girl, marking the feature directorial debut of producer Brian Andrew Mendoza. Produced by and starring Jason Momoa, the film is about a devastated husband who vows to bring justice to the people responsible for his wife's death while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter. Sounds intense. Don't mess with Momoa! This is set primarily in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a city we don't often see many action movies set in. Isabela Merced stars as his daughter Rachel, with Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Adria Arjona, Raza Jaffrey, Justin Bartha, Lex Scott Davis, Amy Brenneman, and Michael Raymond-James. This looks promising, but I'm not so sure it's going to be a total knock out. At least Momoa looks badass, as always. Taking on Big Pharma! Bring 'em down, Momoa. Check it out below.

Big Sky is not messing around.
Throughout its freshman season, the series has featured countless deaths, and Big Sky Season 1 Episode 13 confirmed that Blake Kleinsasser was dead after being hit with a shovel by his brother.
Naturally, the development took fans by surprise, and many of them took to social media to speak out about the development.
"@BigSkyABC killing off @MRaymondJames in 4 episodes really a shame you guys could of had some but like so many show's you ruined in the first season great job," said one irate fan.
Michael Raymond-James, who plays Blake, responded to the above fan, sharing that he could only commit to a handful of episodes.
"Nah this isn’t anybody’s fault man," the former True Blood and Once Upon a Time star wrote on Twitter, adding:
