It’s been 20 years since the beloved stoner comedy Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle first hit theaters, which is why the titular burger chain offered a Harold & Kumar-themed meal earlier this year, consisting of a box full of 20 burgers, which had to be ordered between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. Thankfully, White Castle stopped short of asking customers to provide urine samples proving that they were, in fact, high as shit.
To celebrate the anniversary, the creatives behind the film, including stars John Cho and Kal Penn, chatted with Rolling Stone, describing the ins and outs of the film’s production. Penn also revealed that, despite the fact that the movie initially flopped in theaters, its eventual cult following included several high-ranking politicians — who still never bothered to legalize weed.
Famously, Penn went on to work in the White House under President Barack Obama in 2009 after sending in a job application online,...

Tim Roth is in talks to play political operative Henry Kissinger in Cannes package Kissinger Takes Paris.
Jeff Stanzler is set to direct from his own screenplay, billed as a satire with the announcement drawing comparisons to Wag the Dog. Robin Wright, Mary-Louise Parker, Lucy Hale, David Cross, Jimmy O. Yang, Rob Corddry and Dylan Penn are also in talks to star in the ensemble.
As for the plot, it’s perhaps best to quote the official synopsis verbatim: “The film tells the (mostly) true story of Henry Kissinger – a middle-aged, politically washed-up Harvard professor who, in 1968, travels to Paris at the height of its student protests and the dawn of the sexual revolution. Feeling energized, he crashes the Paris Peace Talks and changes the course of modern history. A few weeks later, Henry returns to America as the second most powerful man in the world – and even more astonishingly…...

It’s a Not Dead Yet murder mystery! Season 2 Episode 5 of the ABC comedy will see Gina Rodriguez‘s Nell on the hunt for a possible killer after her latest obituary ghost, played by guest star Rob Corddry, warns that his death was no accident. And TV Insider has the exclusive first look at the episode. In the promo above, Coddry’s ghost tells Nell he was “pushed” to his death. “This could land me the front page!” the eager journalist replies. No one’s more thrilled by the murder mystery than boss Lexi (the hilariously camp Lauren Ash), who inserts herself into Nell’s investigation once she catches wind of this possible true-crime scenario. “Girls’ night? A night of girls solving a murder? I’m in,” Lexi excitedly says. Their suspected killer is played by Cedric Yarbrough, whom Corddry’s ghost (an accountant) says was not pleased about being audited.

A New Year is just around the corner, and Netflix’s upcoming roster of Original titles includes over 100 returning shows that will be back for new seasons. Some Netflix shows remain unclear on whether they’ll ever return, and in the case of the below, we suspect they’ve all been quietly canceled.
For these shows, we refer to them as ghost canceled. This means they’ve been effectively canceled behind the scenes but haven’t been publicly announced. These announcements are either because Netflix won’t confirm or nobody behind the show publicly announced the cancelation.
As always, cancelations are due to a number of reasons. With a few of these, it’ll be purely down to the length of time since the last season premiered, and then you’ve got the usual issues of performance.

Every good sports movie needs an underdog that the audience can root for. The new film from director Rod Lurie (The Last Castle, The Outpost) has a real one that would have seemed too impossible to believe if a screenwriter had made him up. He’s Mike Flynt, who at the age of 59 went back to play for his college alma mater after 37 years, becoming one of the oldest men to ever play the game.
Superbly played by Michael Chiklis, he’s the real-life hero of The Senior, which recently received its world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. When it gets its inevitable theatrical release, this crowd-pleaser should be a potent box office attraction, especially in non-urban areas. The lines are probably already forming in Texas theaters.
The story begins in 1970, when Flynt was a star linebacker at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. Unfortunately, he also had a violent temper,...

One of HBO's most successful comedies of the last decade married Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with football in the form of "Ballers." Given that the first love of the wrestler-turned-actor was football — he had aspirations of playing in the NFL — it was a good marriage, with the show running for five seasons on the premium cable network. The series came to an end in 2019, concluding the story of financial manager Spencer Strasmore. But why did HBO cancel the show, which featured one of the biggest stars on the planet?
The show sees Johnson playing Spencer, a retired NFL superstar who is trying to make it as a financial manager for current players as they navigate life off the field. The core cast also included the likes of Rob Corddry (Joe Krutel) and John David Washington (Ricky Jerret). Recently, "Ballers" exploded in popularity on Netflix as HBO licensed the rights to...

Adams), who has a photographic memory and joins Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) at a prestigious law firm. The only problem with that is Mike didn’t actually go to law school and he doesn’t have a degree about which he has to lie to everyone. Suits ran for 9 brilliant seasons and ended its run around three years ago in 2019. So, if you are a Suits fan and miss the series here are some brilliant shows like Suits you can watch.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Goldbergs Series Finale, “Bev to the Future.”] The Goldbergs closed the curtain on a decade of fun and laughter at ABC after a ten-season run, but as fans will recall, the ending wasn’t planned as the series finale. ABC called it quits on the comedy before the tenth season finished airing, meaning this final episode was only ever intended to be a season finale. Dropping hints for the future and its characters, the episode “Bev to the Future” may not have had the “last episode ever” punch viewers may have anticipated. (Credit: ABC/Scott Everett White) Centering around Beverly’s (Wendi McLendon-Covey) high school reunion, Adam (Sean Giambrone) agrees to accompany her only to discover that her first boyfriend, George (Rob Corddry), is also recently widowed and happy to see Bev. Taking a cue from Back to the Future, Adam sets out to try and prevent the future...

Spoiler Alert! This story contains plot points from the series finale of ABC’s The Goldbergs.
The Goldbergs got its happy ending Wednesday by wrapping up 10 years on ABC with a possible new relationship for Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey), a secret marriage for Barry (Troy Gentile) and a ride in a fancy DeLorean for Adam (Sean Giambrone).
The episode titled “Bev to the Future” began with a family screening of Back to the Future before the discussion turned to the possibility of turning back the clock and reliving old glory days. Beverly had the perfect opportunity to do just that by attending a high school reunion with Adam as her reluctant “date.”
But Beverly soon realizes that Adam is nothing more than an inconvenient third wheel because she runs into George (Rob Corddry), an old flame from high school who she dated before marrying Murray.
Meanwhile,...

Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel will co-write the next “Fast and Furious” movie with “Fast X” helmer Louis Leterrier returning to direct.
Last week, Variety exclusively revealed that Leterrier would direct the next installment of “Fast and Furious,” which serves as a companion film to “Fast X,” opening May 19. The 11th film in the Vin Diesel-starring franchise will mark Hodson and Uziel’s first official collaboration.
While news of the team up might come as a surprise to some, the two in-demand creatives are friends and share office space, which made the decision to work together practically inevitable.
Hodson is a British-born, Los Angeles-based, writer and producer, who is best known for writing Paramount’s 2018 “Transformers” prequel “Bumblebee” and writing and co-producing 2020’s “Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey” for Warner Bros. and DC Comics. Her next project is the highly anticipated “The Flash” movie, also for Warner Bros. and DC Comics.

Exclusive: Although we are still weeks away from the premiere of Fast X, things are in motion for the Fast & Furious finale that will follow. Universal has set The Flash screenwriter Christina Hodson and Cloverfield screenwriter Oren Uziel to pen next installment, following news last week that Fast X director Louis Leterrier will return for the next film, which is being described as a companion to Fast X.
For some time, Universal has envisioned that the finale of the studio’s biggest franchise this century would play out over two films. While a lot the same pieces from Fast X will return — including Leterrier, who impressed execs so much on his first outing they made his return official before the film’s premiere — they still wanted some new voices. Will Ferrell was, at one point, about as big of a star as one can hope to find in the world of comedy. Following his legendary stint on "Saturday Night Live," the actor had great success in movies such as "Anchorman" and "Step Brothers" in the first decade of the 2000s. But in 2008, Ferrell led an all-star cast that also included the likes of Woody Harrelson, Andre 3000, Will Arnett, and many other famous comedy faces that audiences know and love in a basketball comedy called "Semi-Pro." It was a movie with all the talent in the world which, unfortunately, didn't quite live up to expectations at the time of its release.
While the film topped the box office on its opening weekend back in March of 2008, it topped out at $44 million worldwide against a reported budget of $55 million. Critics also were not terribly kind to the sports comedy at the time.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, you’ll no doubt find a number of genre outlets running lists of horror movies to watch for the most romantic day of the year. Warm Bodies is likely to appear on most if not all of them, but there’s another reason to revisit the 2013 film this year: Lionsgate is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a 4K Ultra HD (with Blu-ray and Digital) edition in Steelbook packaging, available exclusively at Best Buy.
I realize Twilight is practically a pejorative on a horror site, but we probably wouldn’t have Warm Bodies if sparkling vampires hadn’t paved the way. Both films are coming-of-age romances with monsters based on young adult books. Warm Bodies has the added benefit of the proliferation of zombies in pop culture heralded by The Walking Dead, plus a sense of humor akin to Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland.

"You were supposed to find me nice guys, so I could have nice babies!" After a messy divorce, she decides to enlist the help of her best friends to help pull off the ultimate sperm heist on unsuspecting "donors" during her friend’s intimate birthday party! Who's ready for some awkward fun? The comedy stars Malin Akerman, with Rob Corddry, Erinn Hayes, Bria Henderson, Dan Ahdoot, Rizwan Manji, Ryan Hansen, and Jerry O'Connell. Yeah this looks super uncomfortable but also quite funny? Might be worth a watch. // Continue Reading ›...

Ostensibly inspired by the true story of four best friends who, in 2017, decided to embark on a trip to Super Bowl Li to see Tom Brady win another ring before retiring, 80 for Brady proves to be a remarkably charming and endearing piece thanks in large part to the ensemble of fine actresses assembled for this road trip.
Lily Tomlin stars as Lou, the centerpiece of a group of friends who have been together watching Tom Brady and the New England Patriots play (and win) football games since he entered his first game as they watched a game together to cheer Lou up after a particularly brutal round of chemotherapy. Being the superstitious lot they are, they have a few rituals that must be performed before the start of every important game that the Patriots play, and this all harkens back to that very first game (and appearance of Brady in...

If you've never watched the 1981 Mel Brooks film "The History of the World, Part I," now is the time to do it. All these years later, a sequel series, "The History of the World, Part II," is hitting Hulu in March. Fortunately for Kroll, he and Brooks are very funny. As are the dozens of other comedians and comedic actors who jumped at the chance to work with Brooks, their shared comedy hero. And...
