- Elsa Wagner was born on January 24, 1881 in Reval, Russian Empire [now Tallinn, Estonia]. She was an actress, known for Figaros Hochzeit (1949), Die Buddenbrooks (1923) and Der Spieler (1938). She was married to Herr Rühl. She died on August 17, 1975 in West Berlin, West Germany.

- Stage and screen character actress, trained in St. Petersburg. Made her theatrical debut in 1901. From 1911, active on the Berlin stage, notably as ensemble member of the Deutschen Theater. A reliable presence in films from 1916, she was usually cast in matronly or maternal roles.
- During the war time her entrances became rarer.
- In the 20's followed many support roles in some of the most important German silent movies like "Das Kabinett des Doktor Caligari" (1920), "Die Buddenbrooks" (1923), "Der Meister von Nürnberg" (1927) and "Atlantik" (1929).
