Josh Hartnett studied serial killers for his latest movie role. The 46-year-old actor made his name in the late 1990s on the drama series 'Cracker ' and then starred in a string of comedies like '40 Days and 40 Nights' but revealed that he delved into the world of murder to play a serial killer in his new film 'Trap'.He told Britain's Hello magazine: "Yeah, my character is basically a serial killer. He's no hero - although he is to his daughter and to those around him. He's a sociopath with a very, very dark secret. It's a secret that is suddenly at risk of being exposed when he takes his daughter to a concert which, you discover, is a trap to capture him. At this point he'll do just about anything to maintain his cover, to not get caught and to not be exposed as the serial killer everyone has been hunting for.

Josh Hartnett has always wanted to do what was least expected of him. What might be expected of a broad-chested, six-foot-three-inch football player turned actor with a strong jaw and deep-set brown eyes? Roles like himbo prom king. Daring pilot. Brave soldier. Which, sure, he has played. (See: The Virgin Suicides. Pearl Harbor. Black Hawk Down.) But especially since breaking out in a few of those roles at the turn of the millennium, he’s done everything he can to subvert the teen-idol persona, pursuing slightly offbeat characters who exist,...

On track for megastardom, the actor turned down the part of Superman (twice) and turned his back on Hollywood. Now living in rural Hampshire, he talks about choosing fulfilling projects, his hippie childhood, the perils of stalkers – and the fun of owning pygmy goats
Every morning, as soon as the actor Josh Hartnett wakes up in his home in the Hampshire countryside, there are mouths to be fed. Most obviously, those of his four young children. But also: the dog, several guinea pigs, several more chickens and a small herd of pygmy goats. The goats, Hartnett notes, are his favourites.
“They’re the sweetest animals on the planet,” he says, over Zoom, from his home. “They’re like dogs. They would live in the house if they could. In fact, I’ve seen people having their goats in the house with diapers on, but we felt that was kinda cruel.

Stars: Greta Bellamacina, Amber Anderson, Tamsin Egerton, Josette Simon | Written by Jaclyn Bethany, Greta Bellamacina | Directed by Jaclyn Bethany
Written by Jaclyn Bethany (who is on directing duties) and Greta Bellamacina (who also stars in a lead role), Tell That To The Winter Sea tells the story of two friends, Jo and Scarlet, who are rekindling their friendship a week before Jo is about to get married.
Tell That To The Winter Sea is a slow and soft film, full of heart. It doesn’t quite achieve all the things I believe it was going for but for a low-budget movie that is dialogue-heavy and reliant on its writing and performances, it mostly impresses. It shows a small, mostly uneventful hen party, with flashbacks showing when the two leads first met.
The two lead performances from Bellamacina (Jo) and Amber Anderson (Scarlet) seem to take a little while to get going.

With Jo about to embark on a new stage in her life, but struggling to let go of the past, she reflects with Scarlet on the young girls they once were, and the women they are becoming. Josh Hartnett’s family has already told him they won’t be watching his latest work.

As to why Tamsin Egerton will be giving it a pass, it was apparently to do with the content of the episode.
“She asked me what it was about when I read it right off the bat… And she was like, ‘No, I won’t be watching it’,” Hartnett recalled. “She can’t separate herself from the entertainment that she’s watching it on like a visceral level. So I get that. I totally understand it.

While details surrounding the wedding remain private, The Sun reported that the couple exchanged vows during an intimate ceremony at London's The Old Marylebone Town Hall back in November. In fact, the publication reported that the pair got married in the venue's Soho Room, which seats just 12 people. In 2001, at 22, Josh Hartnett was supposed to become the next Leonardo DiCaprio or Matt Damon. His back-to-back roles in Michael Bay’s “Pearl Harbor” and Ridley Scott’s “Black Hawk Down” catapulted him onto the A-list. He graced magazine covers, the paparazzi stalked his personal life and directors pursued him for blockbusters and comic-book vehicles. But it was too much.
Instead of studio projects, Hartnett spent the rest of his 20s veering toward independent movies — such as “Wicker Park,” “Lucky Number Slevin” and “The Black Dahlia.” He turned down the role of Superman in Bryan Singer’s 2006 reboot (which starred Brandon Routh instead) and he was on Christopher Nolan’s short list to play Batman (before Christian Bale).

It's date night for George and Amal Clooney! On Tuesday, the couple stepped out for a special dinner celebrating The Prince's Trust at Buckingham Palace. The event was hosted by Prince Charles and brought out a handful of stars, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Luke Evans, Tamsin Egerton, and Josh Hartnett. George cut a suave figure in a black tux, while Amal was a vision in white - if we didn't know any better, we'd say these two were getting married.
In addition to supporting Charles's youth charity, George and Amal are quite close with the royal family. Not only were they both front and center at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding last May, but Amal attended Meghan's baby shower in NYC last month and George recently came to the duchess's defense following months of her being scrutinized by the press.

This is England: Leterrier Transports Raunchy, Nonsensical Comedy
If Adam Sandler was still interested in generating laughs, he might have eventually turned out something as ridiculous and outré as The Brothers Grimsby, another vehicle designed specifically by and for button pushing star Sacha Baron Cohen, in which he stars as another odd, social misfit bumbling about in his own particularly distressing comedy of errors fashion. Helmed by Louis Leterrier, (now completely divorced from the slickly serious Transporter realm, where he cut his teeth as an acolyte/product of Luc Besson before moving on to Hollywood fare with the 2008 The Incredible Hulk rehash), it’s a completely asinine, adolescently minded bit of perversity. It also happens to have its fair share of shockingly extravagant moments, and these, along with Cohen’s odd penchant for political subtexts and sometimes innocent charm makes his latest offering disarming, and surprisingly funny. Though it’s...

The movies generally refute the toxic bromide that nice guys finish last, but not The Lovers. A dopey but lavish romantic epic about magical rings that unite soul mates, Roland Joffé's latest proposes that to be a mensch is to be a martyr. Such is the fate that befalls 21st-century marine archaeologist Jay Fennel and 18th-century British colonialist James Stewart, both played with squinty stoicism by Josh Hartnett. Sure, the two men have gorgeous women hankering after them, but bad luck haunts their gentle hearts: Jay is knocked into a coma while rescuing his wife (Tamsin Egerton), while James can't help nobly siding with Britain's conquests (e.g., Scotland, India). The drama mostly follows James along his journey through a partially colonized India, wher...

John Boorman: Memories of Queen and Country
By Alex Simon
John Boorman first made his name as a filmmaker to be reckoned with upon the release of 1967’s Point Blank, one of the seminal films of that decade. Classics such as Deliverance (1972), Excalibur (1981) and The Emerald Forest (1985) followed, with 1987’s Hope and Glory, Boorman’s personal memoir of growing up in Ww II London during the Blitz, being one of his career high points, garnering five Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, as well as winning a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture (comedy) and sweeping that year’s BAFTAs in every major category.
2015 finds John Boorman, now 82, releasing what he says might be his swan song as a filmmaker, Queen and Country, the long-awaited sequel to Hope and Glory. The film finds Boorman’s alter ego Bill Rohan (Callum Turner) serving in the British army during the Korean War,...

Tour of Duty: Boorman Returns to Autobiographical Elements
Now at 82 years of age, British auteur John Boorman returns with Queen and Country his first feature since 2006. It is a follow-up to one of the director’s most cherished titles, Hope and Glory (1987), which documents war-torn England through the eyes of a child as his family survives the blitz. Though it’s been nearly thirty years, Boorman sets this follow-up chapter only nine years in the future, leaving behind the horrors of WWII for the Cold War ethics of the Korean conflict. Much like he managed with the film’s predecessor, Boorman achieves success by making the film a personal, insular story about a small group of characters’ experiences. The powerful emotional possibilities of the child’s perspective is left behind, now a young man discovering who he wants to be and what values he wishes to cherish. This makes for a more reserved,...

Realizing you’re about to watch a new movie by the director of Point Blank, Deliverance and Zardoz is an odd experience. In his 81st year, we find John Boorman in a reflective mood, gazing into his own past and trying to assemble fragmented memories into a coherent whole. The result is Queen & Country, a loose sequel to his award-winning 1987 classic Hope & Glory.
That film followed Bill, a fictionalized childhood analogue of Boorman, through the chaos of London Blitz. Queen & Country picks up his story a decade later in 1951. Bill (Callum Turner) has just turned 18, making him eligible to be conscripted for two years of national service. Though just six years since Ve Day, the mood in the country has perceptibly shifted; the vague rumblings from Korea feeling inconsequential in comparison to the previous threat of wartime bombardment.
The majority of the film takes place within a training camp for conscripts somewhere near London.
