Sharing details, the actress' agent Vivek Sidhwani told Ians: "Surekha ji is doing fine but she continues to be monitor closely and the next few days are crucial. That is what the doctors said. This is the second time she suffered a brain stroke after 2018, when she had it for the first time. So we will be asking all her well-wishers to pray for her speedy recovery."
While initial reports said the actress has been going through a financial crisis and that has affecting her health treatment, Sidhwani clarified: "I saw that report came out yesterday and that is absolutely incorrect. Sinister. Diabolic. Macabre. Wicked. Those are the respective moods Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar broadly bank upon, to thrill with their latest collaborative attempt. "Ghost Stories" is guaranteed to send a chill down your spine that should make the ongoing searing winter a tad more discomforting, and if you are a true-blue horror buff you won't complain.
Horror is a restrictive genre. Traditionally, it is associated with whipping up loud, quickfix tricks that guarantee instant scares, which is why script, performances and originality often take a backseat. It is a reason A-list artistes and filmmakers normally desist from participating in the genre.
"Ghost Stories" marks an exciting departure from that rule in Bollywood, what with four of the industry's most highly-regarded contemporary directors coming together to spin four scary tales that bear no connection with each other. Since this bunch has struck winners with "Bombay Talkies" and "Lust Stories" before this,...

NetflixKaran Johar's segment is a disappointment while the other three films are interesting if not scary.Saraswati DatarI'm the kind of person who gets scared of moths and sparrows. Suffice to say, I was frightened at the prospect of being frightened while watching and reviewing Netflix’s film Ghost Stories, a follow up to 2018's Lust Stories. The four stories directed by Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar appear in that order on-screen. The four directors, none of whom have directed a horror film, expand the scope of the genre and question whether what scares us always lies outside of us. Things get off to a good start with Zoya's technically brilliant tale. She builds the feeling of dread and uneasiness experienced by Sameera (Janhvi Kapoor), a nurse sent to look after a bedridden patient (Surekha Sikri). The home and dementia struck patient have both seen happier days,...

Badhaai Ho
Starring Gajaraj Rao, Neena Gupta, Ayushmaan Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Surekha Sikri
Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma
Stop right now and do yourself a favour. Go see Badhaai Ho. You will come out smling but also deeply moved by the artless charm of that great big universe known as the Indian Muddle Class, and I do mean ‘muddle’ where so many contradictory cultural, religious and political forces co-exist uneasily and yet without friction.
Some such controlled chaos defines the world that the Kaushik family inhabits with such fluent ownership. We’ve seen an abundance of commendable comedies on the Delhi’s confounded middleclass such as Dibakar Bannerjee’s Khosla Ka Ghosla and Habib Faisal’s Do Dooni Chaar. But none so delectably oblivious of its responsibilities of pinning down the characters to their cultural canvas.
We meet the family….rather we run into them as though their existence does not depend on our attention.

Sniff!!!
Starring Khushmeet Gill, Manmeet Singh, Surekha Sikri, Sushmita Mukherjee
Directed by Amole Gupte
The best thing about Sniff!!! are the wonderful children—God bless their untarnished souls—who play detectives to a car thief in a Mumbai housing city.
But wait. This is much later. This is where our interest in the goings-on begins to flag. The minute Sunny Gill (the wonderfully solemn and wise Khushmeet) turns super-snooper the plot loses its flexibility and momentum and falls prey to a kind of hushed rush of juvenile activities that don’t really add up to much.
But this absence of a hefty payoff is not what we are looking for or missing in this film. Straight out, Sniff!!! is a charming ode to the tastebuds and the olfactory nerves, both co-related as one gives you a yummy feeling in the mouth and the other in the nose.

Mumbai, Jan 8: Playing the male lead in "Balika Vadhu" was no less than a miracle for Shashank Vyas who feels he didn't struggle enough to bag such a big project in the first go.
"'Balika Vadhu' was like a miracle to me. When I got the role, I was scared as I had not struggled enough... so it was pressurising me in the beginning," he told Ians.
The cast of the shows boasts of well-known names like Surekha Sikri, Smita Bansal and Anup Soni and Shashank candidly admits: "I am the worst actor in 'Balika...' with the best role."
