We’ve got our first peek at Wednesday Season 2 that hints at the fun to expect when the dark comedy returns!
One of the biggest hits of 2022, Wednesday was a dream combination: Director Tim Burton taking on The Addams Family. Jenna Ortega played the title role of Wednesday Addams, the budding sociopath who, after a wild “prank” at her school, is sent to Westmoreland Academy, home to various supernatural beings.
As she navigates the school and a love triangle she could care less about, Wednesday starts investigating a series of murders leading to a dark conspiracy. The show was a huge critical hit with Ortega breaking out into stardom with moments like the now iconic dance number. Obviously, a second season was ordered, although it was delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes and Ortega’s now busier schedule. Thankfully, it’s coming at last with Netflix offering a sneak peek...

Phillip Schofield has landed his first role since dramatically exiting This Morning last year over an inappropriate relationship with a colleague.
Phillip Schofield Cast Away for Channel 5 will see the former ITV host spend 10 days and nine nights on a remote, unpopulated island off the coast of Madagascar.
The three-part series will launch this Sunday, around 16 months after one of British TV’s biggest names left his role under a huge cloud.
Schofield will take on an intense physical and mental challenge. He will be left alone with only a handful of cameras to document his own experience. This solitary island existence presents an opportunity for him to confront the challenges of total isolation, the forces of nature and provides the time to battle within his own mind as he explores his own controversial story.

Season 2 of the hit Netflix Addams Family series Wednesday has been filming in Ireland since May, and Netflix has just unveiled a video that gives a glimpse behind the scenes. In the process, they have also confirmed that the new batch of episodes will premiere sometime in 2025. That means Burton is at the helm of four of the season’s eight episodes.

Hsi works to protect all animals-including animals in laboratories, farm animals, companion animals, and wildlife-and our record of achievement demonstrates our dedication and effectiveness. With the support of our advocates and donors, we have advocated for strong legislation to protect animals. For example, in 2009 we helped achieve a European Union ban on trade in seal products, a major step toward ending the annual commercial seal slaughter in Canada. We work with local animal organizations in countries all over the world to provide direct, hands-on care to animals in need and spread the culture of compassion. In a significant milestone for Ireland’s film industry, the second season of Netflix’s hit series “Wednesday” has become the country’s largest production to date, surpassing even Hollywood blockbusters like “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Currently filming in County Wicklow, the sophomore season of the Addams Family spin-off has set a new record in terms of production spend, according to Screen Ireland. This achievement highlights Ireland’s growing prominence as a filming location for major international productions.
The show’s relocation from Romania, where the first season was shot, to Ireland was attributed to “logistical challenges” faced during previous filming. Executive producer Steve Stark, drawing from his experience with “Vikings” and its spin-off “Vikings: Valhalla,” cited an “amazing deal” at the same studio used for those productions as a key factor in the move.
Ireland’s Prime Minister, Taoiseach Simon Harris, recently visited the set, expressing his enthusiasm for the project.

Warning: contains spoilers for Doctor Who episode “Rogue”.
Just three episodes ago in “Boom”, the Doctor was trapped where he stood while a countdown ticked off the seconds until his death. In “Rogue”, he found himself in the same situation, but this time with the addition of a Kylie soundtrack and some excellent flirting.
Fifteen got out of the “Boom” trap by deactivating a landmine. He got out of the “Rogue” trap by properly introducing himself, both to Jonathan Groff’s bounty hunter, and to any new viewers late to this party. Motherland spin-off Amandaland has been commissioned for a series at BBC Two, here are the details.
Motherland was a terrific sitcom created by Sharon Horgan, Holly Walsh, Helen Serafinowicz and Graham Linehan, who stepped away from the show after the first series. It chronicled the never ending stress of motherhood through the eyes of the perpetually put-upon Julia, (Anna Maxwell Martin), who tries to do the best she can as she battles with the ‘Alpha Mums’, led by the acerbic Amanda (Lucy Punch). She’s supported by her blunt best friend Liz (Diane Morgan) and stay at home Dad Kevin (Paul Brady).
Earlier this year, Horgan confirmed that the show had been quietly cancelled by the BBC, but she also revealed that a spin-off was in the early stages of development.
According to the British Comedy Guide, the spin-off will be called Amandaland, and a six episode series has been commissioned.

Featuring her mother Felicity, played by British acting icon Joanna Lumley, Amanda has to try and get her head around raising teenagers, dealing with modern motherhood horrors like teenage drinking, fake Instagram accounts and eco anxiety. Back in 2022, the eight-episode feature following the mysterious adventures of Wednesday Addams in Nevermore Academy became Netflix’s most-watched original series ever, beating even the most hyped seasons of Stranger Things and Bridgerton.
Filming of the follow-up has just started in Ireland, and we can finally have a closer look at the second season’s cast changes. Luckily, Wednesday’s main star, the new scream queen Jenna Ortega, will reprise her already iconic role, despite her dropping out of another Netflix’s project, the animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.
Wednesday Regulars: Who Returns in Season 2?
Firstly, we’ll have some characters elevated to the status of the show’s regulars. These include Catherine Zeta-Jones as Wednesday’s mother, Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, the father of the family, Isaac Ordonez as their son Pugsley, and also Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Ritchie Santiago, the deputy of the local police department.

After the runaway success of Netflix and Tim Burton’s Addams Family stand-alone series Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega, the streamer renewed it for second season in January 2023. That decision came less than three months after the eight-episode Season 1 premiered, eventually becoming the most-watched original series ever on the streamer ever with more than 252 million views to date, far surpassing Stranger Things‘ Season 4, Dahmer and Season 1 of Bridgerton on the all-time list.

Cue "Goo Goo Muck" by The Cramps -- because it's time for "Wednesday" fans to get their groove back on. The second season of Netflix's immensely popular "Addams Family" spinoff series is now officially in production in Ireland after being postponed due to last year's extremely necessary dual actors and writers' strikes. Jenna Ortega will once again lead the way as the titular character, who is still her usual unsmiling and morbid self here. Well, except that, in a twist that left a lot of longtime "Addams Family" enthusiasts confused, season 1 transformed Wednesday into a cross between a Veronica Mars-style teen sleuth and a superhero, complete with heretofore unknown psychic powers.
While our own review wasn't keen on season 1, "Wednesday" broke out in a major way with the youths, not least of all thanks to characters like Wednesday's bubbly werewolf roommate -- and, should all the "Wenclair" shippers get their way,...

Wednesday was one of Netflix’s biggest hits last year, as the supernatural teen drama starring Jenna Ortega in the titular role became a global hit. Of course, a second season was ordered, and we know that the series is going to begin production later this year, probably eyeing a 2025 release date, although we still don’t have any precise confirmation about the release. Numerous rumors have been circulating in the past months about the cast of the new season, and we’ve finally received a major update that confirms all the major names we are going to see in the upcoming season.
The list is quite comprehensive, as we now know all the main actors who are going to be back for the second season, as well as those who’ve been upped to series regulars. Some guest stars have also been confirmed, as well as recurring characters, but...

New to the Jenna Ortega-led ensemble are the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Steve Buscemi (now given second billing on the show), Olivier-winning British actress Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Australian Noah Taylor. It’s unknown who the new characters are other than their names; Buscemi’s “Barry Dort” does not appear in previous “Addams Family” lore, so it’s anyone’s guess.
As guest stars, the TikTok-primed series now boasts 85-year-old legend Christopher Lloyd, “Absolutely Fabulous” co-star Joanna Lumley, Emmy and BAFTA-winning Thandiwe Newton,...
