- (1950-51) Radio: Was one of five actors to portray Nero Wolfe's assistant, Archie Goodwin, on NBC's radio production of "The New Adventures of Nero Wolfe".
- (1948-50) Radio: Portrayed Raymond Chandler's hardboiled P.I. titular character of CBS Radio's "The Adventures of Philip Marlowe". Between 1948 and 1950 he starred in 119 radio plays in the character of Marlowe.
- (1956) Unsold pilot: Made a pilot for an adventure series set in Europe called--and actually shot in Sweden--"Rough Sketch" about an artist who had a nose for trouble.
- (1964) Unsold pilot: Produced, directed and starred in a pilot for a proposed adventure series called "Holiday for Hire" about the globetrotting, troubleshooting manager of a travel agency.
- (1946) Stage: Played the lead in "A Guy Could Change" in the Lyric Theatre, Lima, OH.
- (10/57) Stage: Appeared (as "The Novelist") in Carson McCullers' 'Square Root of Wonderful' on Broadway. Directed by José Quintero. National Theater, NY.
- (1968) Unsold pilot: Starred in the pilot of a dramatic series to be filmed in Stockholm, Sweden, called "Private Entrance". He played Jeff Landers, an American lawyer working in Europe. Sadly, he died of a heart attack soon after its completion.
- (1930s) Stage: Appeared (as "Gangster") in the original Broadway production of "The Petrified Forest".
- Radio: He was the narrator for the radio series "The Lone Ranger". As well as being the narrator for the radio series of "The Lone Ranger", his voice is also heard as the individual episode narrator for the TV series of "The Lone Ranger" but is uncredited and unrecognized for this work.
- (1947-48) Radio: Appeared (as "Bill Lance") in "The Adventures of Bill Lance" (ABC Radio)
- (1959) He was to star in the series "Bravo". Production was set to begin on 26 episodes when for some reason the series was canceled.
- (1967-68) Voice of Reed Richards "Mr. Fantastic" on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon show "The Fantastic Four".
- (1930s) Stage: Starred (as "Jean Christophe") in the Mercury Theatre production of "Jean Christophe" on Broadway.
- (1947) Radio: Co-starred in "The Pepsodent Program: Philip Marlowe" (NBC Radio).
- (1948) Radio: One of two actors to star (as "The Lone Wolf") in "The Lone Wolf" (Mutual).
