Following a successful world premiere at London’s FrightFest, Dark Sky Films today announced it has acquired North American distribution rights to Herd, an action-driven horror film and the directorial debut from Steven Pierce, co-written by Pierce and James Allerdyce. Tonight, viewers said goodby to the Baxters and their friends for a second time. The sitcom was cancelled by ABC after six seasons but was revived a year later for three more seasons on Fox. Airing on Thursday nights, Last Man Standing stars Tim Allen, Nancy Travis, Hector Elizondo, Amanda Fuller, Christoph Sanders, Molly McCook, Jordan Masterson, Jonathan Adams, and Krista Marie Yu with Jay Leno, Susan Sullivan, Tisha Campbell, and Kaitlyn Dever recurring. “Last Man Standing” will air its (second) series finale Thursday, with two back-to-back episodes to help fans say goodbye to Mike Baxter (Tim Allen) and his family. In TheWrap’s sneak peek of the first half-hour of the Fox sitcom’s ninth and final farewell, Mike decides he’s going to have to teach his eldest daughter, Kristin (Amanda Fuller), a lesson about work-life balance when she tells him about her genius system of working an extra hour every day.
First, Kristin tells her dad she’s already finished a huge project he recently gave her and when he says, “That’s a lot of work, where are you getting the energy? Please tell me you are not putting meth in your coffee.”
“Nope, every day I work an extra hour.”
Mike becomes concerned, “Well that hour comes from some place — you really think this is worth it?”

Last Man Standing is ending after three seasons on Fox, nine total, including an original run on ABC. And while the network has opted not to order another season, it is is sending Tim Allen and the rest of the Last Man Standing family off with praise just days before its series finale.
“The show took a bold, yet relatable, point-of-view with great humor and sensibility that directly spoke to families. Tim, the producers and cast have been great partners, and I believe this series will go down as one of the most meaningful family comedies in television,” said Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment for Fox Entertainment told Deadline. “It’s only fitting that a show of this importance gets the opportunity for a big, proper farewell to its loyal fans.”
In its hour-long finale, Last Man Standing will bid adieu to Mike Baxter and the rest of his quirky family members and co-workers.

Tim Allen is wrapping yet another long-running family sitcom as Last Man Standing nears its series finale on Fox. Though experienced the actor and executive producer may be at bringing beloved projects like Home Improvement and Galaxy Quest to close, Allen said it was difficult to say good bye to the on-screen family he’s come to know for nearly a decade.
“To be very honest, I have had problems letting go of this one. It’s just been three or four weeks and I’m literally just feeling better. Never have I enjoyed, outside of Home Improvement and maybe moments of Galaxy Quest, one of these jobs,” he said. “This crew, from the guy at the gate to Radford inside to people we ate with, I loved every second of this experience.”

You can’t really talk about indie horror without talking about Dr. Rebekah McKendry. She has become synonymous with the genre, first as a journalist, then as a podcaster, and now as a filmmaker with multiple shorts and two features, All the Creatures Were Stirring and Psycho Granny, to her credit so far. She is what those douchier than myself might refer to as a “tastemaker” or an “influencer”—a lifelong fan of horror with a large platform from which to educate and enlighten. She’s a rare breed in the genre, both a creator and professional appreciator, deeply entrenched in all aspects of the genre. She has been and continues to be one of horror’s greatest champions.
Her debut feature, All the Creatures Were Stirring, a Christmas horror anthology co-written and directed alongside her husband David Ian McKendry, might as well be called “Indie Horror: The Movie,” seeing...

Mike and Vanessa Baxter love their granddaughter Sarah — they just don’t want to be saddled with her permanently. Unfortunately, the two don’t know exactly how to break that to their daughter and son-in-law on Thursday’s “Last Man Standing.”

Originally released in 2018, as far as I know All The Creatures Were Stirring is the second ever Christmas horror anthology movie, with the first being the highly entertaining A Christmas Horror Story.
This one has five segments and one encompassing segment which begins and ends the film as well as linking each other segment. In this we see a man and woman who are kind of on a date at a local theatre. They meet outside and once inside are introduced to a couple of strange characters until they are eventually seated to watch the show. The first part of the show then leads into the opening segment The Stockings Are Hung.

In the first clip, which you can view above, Vanessa (Nancy Travis) tells Mike (Tim Allen) that the umpire mask he’s wearing doesn’t actually count as a mask in the way he wants it to during a pandemic.
There are two more promos for you to check out below, one that makes a not so subtle hint about trying to boost ratings by announcing you’re going into your final season — of playing football for the NFL — and one where Mike declares himself the “Snack Master General.”

Last Man Standing is coming to an end, again.
The Fox comedy will end with its upcoming ninth season, which will premiere on the network in January.
The move means that the Tim Allen-fronted series will have run for 194 episodes when it ends with its ninth season being ordered for 21 episodes.
It marks the second time that the sitcom has come to an end; the show, which is produced by 20th Television, ran for six seasons on ABC and was axed in 2017. Fox, which at the time was part of the same corporation as the studio that made it, picked it up for a seventh season that premiered in September 2018.
Last Man Standing is currently Fox’s only returning live-action comedy. The network has straight-to-series comedy series Call Me Kat, starring Mayim Bialik and executive-produced by Bialik and Jim Parsons, launching in midseason and is still planning to film...

“Last Man Standing” is coming to an end — again.
Fox announced Wednesday that the previously announced Season 9 of the Tim Allen multi-camera comedy will be the show’s last. The ninth and final season is slated to debut in January. This will mark the second time “Last Man Standing” has ended. The show originally ran for six seasons on ABC before being canceled in 2017. Fox then picked up it for a seventh season, which began airing in 2019. Upon its conclusion, the show will have filmed 194 episodes.
“It has been an honor to be home for Tim Allen and ‘Last Man Standing,’” said Michael Thorn, president of entertainment for Fox Entertainment. “Millions of families have long enjoyed the show because, perhaps, they see themselves in the Baxters. The loyal affection they’ve shown proves just how much this series has meant to them. On behalf of everyone at Fox, a big,...

“Last Man Standing” will now get a proper series finale. Fox announced Wednesday that the Tim Allen-led sitcom will wrap up after its upcoming ninth season next year.
Fox picked up the sitcom after it was dropped by ABC after six seasons. Allen was irked by ABC’s decision to cancel the series despite its solid performance on Friday nights. In a statement, he seemed much more sanguine about the series’ second ending.
“I’ve been one lucky dude to have been part of ‘Last Man Standing,'” Allen said. “I so appreciate the incredible support from our fans over this near decade of work. As we approach the ninth season, I just admire and feel grateful for all the hard work our wonderful cast and crew have done. We had all considered to end the show after last season, but together with Fox, we decided to add a...

What can fans expect from the new season of Last Man Standing? Executive producer Kevin Abbott recently spoke with TV Guide about how the Fox TV show will address the Covid-19 pandemic.
The comedy series, which was just renewed for a ninth season, revolves around Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), the marketing director of the Outdoor Man sporting goods stores and a “man’s man”. His family doesn’t see eye-to-eye with him so it can sometimes be a little tough for Mike to stand his ground and stay in touch with his inner man. The cast also includes Nancy Travis, Hector Elizondo, Amanda Fuller, Christoph Sanders, Molly McCook, Jordan Masterson, Jonathan Adams, and Krista Marie Yu.

Fox has officially renewed two more series for next season, flagship comedy Last Man Standing, headlined by Tim Allen, and medical drama The Resident, starring Matt Czuchry and Emily VanCamp. Both come from 20th Century Fox TV and both had been a lock to come back.
The pickups leave freshmen Prodigal Son and Outmatched as the only remaining Fox scripted series yet to hear their fate. As we reported, drama Prodigal Son’s renewal is being finalized while comedy Outmatched is not expected to continue.
Last Man Standing and The Resident will join the rest of Fox’s returning live-action series on the bench of midseason. Because of the uncertainty surrounding the timing of Hollywood’s production reopening amid the coronavirus pandemic, Fox’s fall schedule only features scripted series that are either already in the can or are animated, as animation has not been significantly impacted by the pandemic.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for the Season 8 finale of “Last Man Standing.”)
“Last Man Standing” brought its eighth season to a close on Thursday with an episode that was never intended to be this year’s finale and definitely not meant to be a series finale — but it could be. Though star Tim Allen and showrunner Kevin Abbott are hoping that’s not how things turn out for the Baxters.
Due to production shutdowns amid the pandemic, the Fox comedy was just one day shy of filming a proper Season 8 closer, a half-hour that would have seen the birth of Mike (Allen) and Vanessa’s (Nancy Travis) oldest daughter, Kristin’s (Amanda Fuller), baby and be a better note to end on for fans — should the show not get renewed for Season 9.

It looks like the guys’ hard work on their new car restoration business is finally paying off come Thursday’s episode of “Last Man Standing.” Well, for Mike (Tim Allen) and Chuck (Jonathan Adams) it is, but Joe (Jay Leno) thinks he’s getting the shaft when an article about their new venture barely mentions him.
In TheWrap’s exclusive clip from tonight’s episode of “Last Man Standing,” which you can view above, Mike and Chuck are reading over a story posted on the Motor Masters website about the boys’ business fixing up old vehicles and feeling pretty good about how they are referred to.
But then Joe comes storming in to let them know he’s not thrilled with the picture the story paints of him and how little he’s contributed to the business.

The schtick o’ the week in Wednesday’s Masked Singer was security — as in, going through metal detectors when getting on planes, having your purse rifled through before entering buildings, etc. The idea was introduced during a cold open that saw the judges getting their bags searched before entering the studio. I know we were supposed to focus on the joke — that everyone but Ken Jeong sailed right in — but all I could think about was: Why did the judges’ paraphernalia stay on the table after they left?

As Last Man Standing entered the homestretch of its eighth season, cast member Amanda Fuller found herself behind the camera for the very first time.
Fuller, who plays Mike and Vanessa’s eldest daughter Kristin, tells us that she first approached the producers about directing an episode in Season 7. “They were very responsive,” she says. “Unfortunately, I had asked too late in the season to get a slot, so they said we’d have to make it work next season, and here we are. Your prayers to the Night Angel have been answered: Fox’s Wednesday-night lineup will now contain even more Masked Singer content.
Nick Cannon will host After the Mask, a post-episode series that will air directly after the wacky reality show on Wednesday, April 22, April 29, May 6 and May 13 — all at 9/8c. Cannon will appear on what Fox is calling a “virtual stage” (possible interpretation: fancy Zoom background?) and will chat remotely with “major celebrity guests” from wherever they are spending their quarantines. Discussion, naturally, will center on the outcome of that night’s Masked Singer episode.

Mike Baxter (Tim Allen) has a problem on Thursday’s “Last Man Standing” — what else is new, right? — one that he can’t sleep on any longer: Vanessa (Nancy Travis) has started snoring and he is incapable of suffering through it. Of course, he does his best to present this issue to his dear wife in the most loving way possible, but she still doesn’t take the news so well.
In TheWrap’s exclusive clip from tomorrow’s episode, Mike comes home after a “taxing” day at work and slowly tries to broach the topic gently by saying, “You’re beautiful, funny and so understanding,” to which she goes, “Mike?”
Fine. “You snore!” he shouts.
“I mean with an extraordinary amount of gusto, I might add.”

Mike Baxter’s got a secret on Thursday’s “Last Man Standing,” the question is, can he keep it? Well, the very easy answer is, of course he can, because it will allow him to “torment” his dear wife Vanessa.
In TheWrap’s exclusive clip from “You’ve Got Male (or Female),” one of tonight’s two back-to-back episodes of the Fox sitcom, Mike’s (Tim Allen) daughter Kristen (Amanda Fuller), comes to his office to ask him to be in charge of her unborn baby’s gender reveal party because she believes he’s capable of keeping the big secret — and that her mother Vanessa (Nancy Travis) definitely is not.
Mike admits that while he wouldn’t normally plan a party, he will gladly be in charge of this one, since it’s going to eat up Vanessa when she finds out he knows the gender of their grandchild and she doesn’t.
