Steve Martin brings down the house with this adoring, hilarious pastiche of mad doctor and disembodied brain motifs — surely the epitome of cultured comedy. Under Carl Reiner’s direction Martin is marvelous, and he’s aided and abetted by the daring sexpot-turned comedienne Kathleen Turner — who has a better handle on outrageous sexy comedy than they do. It’s class-act nonsense and inspired silliness. Where else can a crazed surgeon proclaim his special screw-top skull surgery method, and utter the immortal words, “Scum queen?!”

An internal—or psychological—action leads to a physical action. Here we'll confine the discussion of actions to the psychological, not the physical. Thus, actions are the choices you make, beat by beat, to affect the other characters in a way that will lead you to achieve your overall scenic objective.Actions are expressed as active, specific, dynamic verbs. Those verbs must represent something you can actually do, a way that you can influence the other characters. You can't change what the other characters say, but presumably you can change how they say it, how they feel and behave. If one action doesn't work,...

The Bible is rife with tales of terror, making it truly a good book. While that last statement may be offensive to some, there's no denying that there's lots of spooky strewn about within its pages.
Filmmaker Mohit Ramchandan is exploring one such aspect of religion gone awry with his modern day telling of The Book of Job, entitled The Devil's Creek, which is to be shot in 2010.
Ramchandan caught up with Bloody Disgusting to give them the lowdown on what to expect.
"It tells the story of Adam Mathews, a small town preacher, who awakens from an accident on the banks of Devil's Creek, seriously injured and unable to remember what's happened to him and his wife," Mohit adds. "Rescued by a Park Ranger, his wounds are treated at a remote ranger station. After a quick recovery, Adam is questioned by his rescuer about the circumstances surrounding his mysterious brush with death.
