Lucky Spencer has certainly lived up to his name over the years on General Hospital. Lucky, the offspring of the legendary Luke and Laura, wasn’t born on screen, but we saw him when the dynamic couple returned to the show in 1993. The character originated by Jonathan Jackson, who grew up before us. Jacob Young later portrayed him from 2000 to 2003, and then by Greg Vaughan from 2003 to 2009. With Jackson’s return to Gh, it’s time we looked at what Lucky was up to over the years.
Childhood on the Run
Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis) had been on the run from evil mobster Frank Smith (then Mitchell Ryan), during which time they had Lucky. After Frank’s goons caught up to them in Canada, the couple sent their son off to Port Charles for safety while they lured the minions off of his trail. Luke’s aunt...

General Hospital just teased Jonathan Jackson’s exciting return with an iconic photo that will make viewers old and new go, “Awww.”
Good Ol’ Days
It’s been a nostalgic time in Port Charles, with Steve Burton making his comeback as Jason earlier this year and Rick Hearst gearing up to reprise his memorable role as Ric, but Jackson bringing his legacy character, Lucky, home is one that warms the hearts of many.
To celebrate his return, Gh snapped and shared an iconic photo to commemorate the occasion, and it’s more sentimental than you think.

Showtime on Tuesday shared the first teaser and a premiere date for its Roger Ailes series “The Loudest Voice.”
“We’re way past politics — it’s war,” says Russell Crowe as the former Fox News chairman in the clip for the seven-part series, which is set to debut on Sunday, June 30.
Based on Gabriel Sherman’s best-selling book, “The Loudest Voice in the Room,” the miniseries will detail Ailes’ rise to power and how he built Fox News into a cable news behemoth, as well as address the sexual harassment accusations and monetary settlements that brought his Fox News reign to an end.

Ailes’ tenure at the network ended in July 2016 following a lawsuit filed by Gretchen Carlson, who accused Ailes of sexual harassment. More women followed Carlson with similar accusations against Ailes.

Showtime has added cast another key figure to its upcoming limited series on former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes. Joe Cortese has joined the project as Roger Stone, TheWrap has exclusively learned.
Cortese’s role is currently slated for one episode. He is currently shooting his scenes for “The Loudest Voice” this week in New York, all of which will be opposite Russell Crowe’s Ailes. Stone is a longtime informal political adviser to President Donald Trump and self-proclaimed “dirty trickster.”
Cortese is coming off his role as Gio Loscudo in Peter Farrelly’s Oscar-winning “Green Book.”

Tony “Lip” Vallelonga (Viggo Mortensen) is an Italian-American bouncer at New York’s Copa nightclub, a classy joint popular with the mob community. After some serious fisticuffs, the Copa is closed for refurbishment, and Tony finds himself on a sabbatical. He can’t support his family taking odd jobs and indulging in eating competitions (however magnificent an eater he may be); so when the opportunity arises to drive a wealthy musician, Dr Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali), on a tour of the Deep South, he jumps at the chance. I heard Mahershala Ali‘s next Oscar acceptance speech today. It happened during a Q&A for “Green Book” at Bice in midtown Manhattan after the film screened next door.
“The film provides some perspective on things we are experiencing now. I think we need to have these films,” the “Moonlight” winner began. “We need to have art. We need to have ‘edu-tainment.’ Things have to exist that do some of the fighting for us.” On his portrayal of Don Shirley — the musician driven around the South in 1961 by Viggo Mortensen‘s character Tony Vallelonga — he continued, “It was a real blessing to step into the shoes of a man who was that dynamic and that complicated. I’d never seen that man on screen before — of any color. It made me nervous, but I wanted to step toward it.”
It’s rare that applause breaks out at one of...

At this point, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ governors election looks more like a round-up than a race; more than 180 members have declared their interest in filling 17 contested spots on the 54-member Board of Governors.
Voting in the run-off round starts on Monday and ends May 18. That will narrow the present field to a maximum of four nominees per branch in the final round, which follows.
For now, there are on average about 11 candidates in the running for each slot. In the casting directors and costume design branches, only three members have declared for each slot. But not so in the actors branch, where 17 members — including Brie Larson, Jacki Weaver and Meg Ryan — are vying for the spot being vacated by termed-out Tom Hanks; or the producers, executives, and public relations branches, all of which have a bumper crop of candidates. Marvin Levy, currently a governor in the public relations branch,...

From the 1970’s and 80’s to now, one thing will always be a sad constant: bullies will always exist. And there will always be that weak-willed teenager who is the constant target of these awful people. But, there’s always this fulfillment that comes about from films like Patrick and Carrie, that the bullied kid has a tendency to lash out at those who oppress them with otherworldly forces. These kids search outward for any escape and that leads them to some very dark corners. In the case of Evilspeak, that dark corner is The Devil himself, and the results are typically gory and fantastically outrageous.

Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord – and many horror films to boot. Payback has always been a constant theme, whether it’s a sinister spirit avenging murder, or a maniacal parent repaying camp counselors for not watching her handicapped child. The meteoric rise in popularity of video games and personal computers at the turn of the 80’s, married with ancient evil, brought a modern edge to this shopworn trope. A sympathetic tale of comeuppance, Evilspeak (1981) serves up its revenge under the computer screen’s warm glow.
Released by Moreno Films, first in Japan in August of ’81 and February of ’82 in North America, Evilspeak nearly made back its 1,000,000 Us budget opening weekend stateside. A few good reviews trickled in, comparing it favorably to the high school horrorfest Carrie (1976). Regardless of comparisons, it stands as a unique antique of a burgeoning time in technology and a potent payback tale.

Evilspeak wasn’t a film I grew up with, although it was one of those movies that I had always heard a lot about- mostly due to its ‘outrageously graphic’ content, which a good portion of ended up on the cutting room floor back in 1981. The cult classic has finally been resurrected in high definition, courtesy of Scream Factory, in a presentation befitting all of Clint Howard’s Satan-fueled nerd rage and gory aftermath that followed.
Howard plays Stanley Coopersmith, an orphan who is constantly bullied at the military academy that he is forced to attend after his parents were killed in an automobile accident. Stanley is the very definition of awkward, which makes it all the easier for his classmates (and even teachers) to pick on him and torment him mercilessly. While cleaning out the chapel’s basement on campus one afternoon, Stanley stumbles upon an ancient spell book...

Normally, this is the part of the review where I wax nostalgic, and talk a little bit about what this particular “cult classic” means to me. In the case of Evilspeak, though, I can only claim to have known of its existence. I saw it on the video store shelf, but I never made the plunge and took it home. It’s surprising to me, honestly, because I think I rented damn near everything on the horror rack at least twice. I don’t know the reason that I continued to sit Evilspeak’s box back on the shelf, but I wish I had watched it back then, as it’s quite an entertaining movie. Featuring a young and awkward Clint Howard, playing a “slow”, cadet at a military school. As he gets picked on day in and day out, he turns to Satanism in the form of a book...
