Jungle (2022)
very predictable and boring
The first episode tries to be a mix between a musical poetry similar to romeo + Juliet while also trying to be like the kidulthood trilogy but it just fails at both unfortunatly, on the up side we get to see k koke make an apperance. Everything is just so bland.
Its like the show has identity issues, its not exactly cyberpunk although it tries so hard to be, with its bright neon lights in places where it has no business to be and lifts with no light at all... the whole episode just reminded me in the worst way of how a blade tv series could go so horribly wrong and yet its not exactly hip-hop either as actors will for no reason at all start rapping to eachother in the most bizarre places... theres no real explanation or proper transition.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Rings of power is not your average TV series
Much like the movies and much like the books, RoP (rings of power) is not for the average tv viewer, it is for those who know what lord of the rings is and generally lovers of this type of genre because ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls RoP is not a "adventure wrapped in 60 min" type tv show, no no theyre trying to tell a story that will take a whole season ro complete and much like the movies and the books, each scene eventually adds up to a grand finale and not just its own contained thing with a "cliff hanger" tie in to the next episode.
I will also say in the spirit of disclosure i expected to dislike this series bsed on trailers and such so i watched it expecting to click off in 10min or so but nope, whole thing so far has been amazing!
Sweet Girl (2021)
Another netflix generic slot filler
Netflix is rapidly becoming or perhaps has become the new Asylum/Anchor bay, releasing half baked movie after half baked movie and this one is no different, the actors were great, the actors were the only thing keeping this thing together but by god, the script was terrible, the camera work was terrinble, i mean dear god did they find the only camera person with parkinson's or what.. its becoming very sad, maybe 1 in 30 netflix movies is good the rest are just garbage, i realise this review has spent more time focusing on netflix than the movie itself and thats partly because theyre to blame, put up any netflix movie poster and youll see, theyre all pretty much the same. Kinda like the hallmark christmas movie, youve seen one hallmark christmas movie, you've seen em all, just different actors.
Infinite (2021)
if Wanted and Assassins Creed had a baby which was raised by Fast and Furious
If you've ever enjoyed either of those movies, youll enjoy this.
Its not a movie that is overall complicated or hard to watch, if you just watch the movie for what it is instead of trying to analyze it like a 9th grade teacher looking for hidden meanings, you'll have fun.
