The Fall Guy (2024)
LOVE the extended version!!
I saw the original cut and liked it very much. But the extended version is so much better! Storyline flows more evenly - extra Super Duper stunts! Love seeing the behind-the-scenes and since it was made by a company that does stunts - You know it's real and not CGI. If you get a chance to watch the making of Fall Guy - Explanation of the movie, how stunts were done and who did them etc., Watch it! It talks about my two favorite stunts - 8 1/2 roll car roll and the 150ft fall (backwards) from the helicopter. The actors were really fun too - I mean Ryan Gosling (who actually did the fall at the start of the movie) and Emily Blunt (cutie patootie).
Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa (2023)
Wonderful view of Everest from a native point of view
I really enjoyed this documentary because it gave an experience from a native Sherpa point of view. Not only that but aI really enjoyed this documentary because it gave an experience from a native Sherpa point of view. Not only that but a native Sherpa woman! Her goals, her accomplishments in the face of extreme prejudice and adversity is a true testament to the strength and amazing gift of the Sherpa. I've always been amazed when watching documents on Everest of the endurance and loyalty of the Sherpa. This documentary helped me to understand the mindset and drive of this amazing people. A must see for Everest fans.
Action (2024)
Really interesting
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started watching this documentary series. But I was pleasantly surprised! It was really engrossing to watch how these guys do what they do - multiple times every day. The safety precautions taken and extent of precautions to ensure that the stunt person incurs the least amount of damage. Also, really interesting to find out about their backgrounds and their family lives. I think the most fun of all was that the majority of the filming was done and showed stunts from The Fall Guy, which was in theaters as this was showing. Would love to see another season!
The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth (2024)
Wow. Just wow.
From what I can tell after having watch the series, Indrani is a narcissistic psychopath, her son is a selfish, whiny boy, and her youngest daughter is a spoiled brat. The husband? Wimpy. The only one I really think has got some guts is the boyfriend/fiancé. Do I think Indrani is guilty? Absolutely. The husband? Guilty. The driver? Guilty. The enjoyment of this series is watching the family lie and lie about pretty much everything. What are they afraid of? Their reputations are already ruined. As for the criminal record of Rahul - 5 or 6 pot PLANTS? Traffic violations? Yep ... I was young and stupid once too.
And the poor lawyer who she hired to 'defend' her? She couldn't even shut up enough to let him speak on her behalf!
GUILTY!!!!
Downey's Dream Cars (2023)
Fun to watch, but...
Well, it was fun to see Robert Downey, Jr. On screen again. And all those great muscle cars. And it's great to see the renovations in episode one - that they were able to do not only to military vehicles, but to personal vehicles also. But as a normal person with limited income, I can honestly say that this isn't realistic for the common Man. Unless Robert Downey, Jr. Wants to pay for my conversions... it won't be happening. And unless car makers bring the cost down of electric cars and battery replacement, I'm pretty sure I'll stick with gas powered engines. I'll keep watching it though. Cause it's interesting.
Succession (2018)
Well, here we are season four - the last one
I've enjoyed watching this show. I think the characters are well developed. But it drives me nuts that these kids are so stupid (I mean they WERE raised in a business atmosphere) that they can't figure out their dad is screwing them all the time! Whether he's mean whether he's nice, it's all about him, and not about them. And by the way, these are ADULT children - you don't need to be so needy! Stand on your own 2 feet - make a few mistakes - the world will not end!
I think I can already see how this is going to go, but I'll watch it till the end because of the characters. And good luck to us all.
Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond - Featuring a Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton (2017)
Really explains some things....
I really liked Jim Carrey, until it seemed that he had gone off the rails - (Andy, Tony Clifton). But watching this documentary explained a lot of things about his crazy behaviors. I think if you're on the rail about Jim Carrey (especially in the last fees years), you should watch this documentary. From early life issues, his relationship with his Father, about the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde personalities he displayed in the past, and many other facets, I found this documentary fascinating. And I especially appreciated the fact that he didn't try to crack jokes, or become something that he personally was not during the interviews. I highly recommend it.
Sr. (2022)
What a living tribute...
I don't know much about Robert Downey Sr. As I didn't follow his work. But I have watched Robert Downey Jr since he was a teenager. With all of the trouble that he ended up going through, I think it's amazing that he and his father retained a wonderfully close relationship. This is a loving, caring tribute from father to son and son to father. I love that Cat Stevens music was used in the movie. It was wonderful to see Jr's son involved , especially toward the end of Sr's life. I do t know what I expected, but I really enjoyed this amazing documentary. Thank you for sharing your personal life love and sadness with us.
No Time to Die (2021)
Wow - haters gonna hate, I guess.
First, let me start by saying that I'm not a huge James Bond fan. With that said, I have seen all of the James Bond movies. In fact, I just recently watched all of them in order. I have to tell you I think Daniel Craig was a great James Bond and I love this movie. It shows a tough outside and a soft inside. It makes him human. It makes me sad to read so many comments about what a terrible James Bond he was. So he isn't exactly like the book Bond. And not a sexist womanizer. I'm old enough to have lived through the 'Bond Years' and I see the culture in each one. I'm glad Daniel Craig was man enough to be tough - and gentle. My kinda guy.
Death Zone: Cleaning Mount Everest (2018)
A eye opening truth about the ego and waste of the world
Want to get the thrill of climbing Everest ? Paying HUGE amounts of money to do it?
The government and the climbing companies should
contribute a portion of their profits to the cleaning of this area. Bodies (and body parts) should be allowed by the government to be removed and cremated. Shame on the egos involved.
Event Horizon (1997)
A must watch for space and horror lovers
This film was recommended to me years ago by a favorite Blockbuster employee and remains one of my faves.
It's creepy, scary and utterly unconventional. You may have to watch it more than once to catch the
Nuances but it is worth it. In fact, I'm watching it again (for the 20th or so time) and still catch things!
What About Dick? (2012)
I had the pleasure of seeing this live in LA!
I saw this play in LA and didn't realize that it was filmed - but so glad it was! Watching it brought back wonderful memories and out loud laughs!! But even better as there are close-ups!
Torn (2021)
A beautiful love story
As a widow, my heart went out to this beautiful family trying to come to grips with the sudden loss of their husband/father. And the struggle of Conrad Anker as the soul survivor and beat friend of Alex Lowe. Beautifully filmed - heartbreaking footage and yet, a positive and hopeful continuation of family.
Inventing Anna (2022)
Eh....
Anna and the journalist are both narcissistic, self absorbed characters (at least with Anna it makes sense), her lawyer is a wimp. When the journalist is on Anna's side after the trial I almost got ill. Anna got it right 'we're not friends and you make me sick - I don't like you'. Not great.
Spencer (2021)
Watching this film just made me hate Charles all over again
How can the British people want him to be King? William is a much better choice. And those poor boys. Breaks my heart. And the Queen? 'Loyal and Royal' till the end.
Brazen (2022)
Don't bother
I really am sad that Sam Page and Emilie Ullerup Are in this really terrible movie. I've seen them in other things and they were really good. Don't bother with this it's really awful.
The Confession Tapes (2017)
Scared me !!
After watching this series, I looked up on Google how quickly I could hire a lawyer if I was detained or arrested! I haven't been and don't plan to be, but either did these folks. Some I think were genuinely guilty, but I can't say that I believe that all of them were. Many I think we're railroaded into the polices idea of what happened. Very scary!
The Secret: Dare to Dream (2020)
Is this a Scientology movie?
Wish it and it will be? You are like a magnet and positive thoughts are drawn to you? Um...no.
9-1-1: Lone Star: One Day (2021)
Heartbreaking
I can't begin to tell you how painful it was for me to watch this episode. My husband died 12 years ago very unexpectedly. Watching Tommy deal with the death of her husband brought it all back for me. I cried through most of the episode, feeling her pain and mild. So well acted; the shock that Tommy is going through I went through.
Christine (2016)
More than depression
I watched this movie not really knowing the situation with Christine Chubbuck. Watching the movie shows she is definitely struggling with other issues as well as depression. Very sad.
Burt's Buzz (2013)
Made me feel sorry for Burt
As I continue to watch this documentary, it made me very sad. First of all you didn't seem like airy want to be there at all. (Cried after video chat with pup at home). Secondly all of those around him treated him like a mindless child. He's Old - not senile not stupid.
I have great admiration for the way that he's chosen to live his life. Makes me sad to think that he's being used to promote an item that he originated but someone else seems to be making money off of.
Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (2021)
A you tube conspiracy waste
Too many people with too much time on their hands who have conspiracy theory on the brain.
Then Came You (2020)
Funny cute and thoroughly enjoyable!
This is a great movie! Beautiful scenery Craig Ferguson and Kathy Lee Gifford have great chemistry together! You really need to watch this if you like romcoms. Definitely more than a 5 1/2
Blown Away (2019)
Seriously?
I watched the entire season 1 - and so completely disagreed with the winner I have decided not to watch season 2.
Bloom (2019)
Good series
First, damn that Bryan Brown! He STILL looks good!
Ok, now the show. So season1, good and suspenseful - get through 3 episodes to know what's what.
Season 2 - kind of drawn out until episode 3-6.
